Beautiful national parc. Hardly any visitors when we were there. Gravel road to the parc. Multiple trails available. The 3km trail is quite steep and multiple sections were very muddy. Good shoes required.

This place was awesome! For me as a tourist it was $10 to get in and they're open 8am to 4pm. Down by the river there are plenty of shelters, bathrooms, and outdoor sinks. The trails are all well maintained to the river and well marked. Great experience of the jungle on a budget.

Very nice national park. There are many "ranch" areas for having a nice (picnic like) family time next to the river. There are also pretty nice trails, one of them is literally walking in the mountain (it will be hard) and the rest are low difficult. You will be in the middle of the mountain so be prepared because it might get foggy and could at any time. The river is really clean water, which it's also pretty cold. Very nice experience for a "one day trip" experience.

A great place for a hike, well know for the amount of birds and fauna located in the area. One of the trail will take you to the river, there I was able to spot a Tolomuco (related to a Wiesel)

"Do not look and walk" - just to prevent injuries. This national park is a secret tip. It is not so busy and you have the four circuits almost all to yourself. However, one is not alone, because of course countless animals of all kinds live in this gigantic "botanical garden". Anyone who brings the necessary peace and behaves in the same way will quickly find it.

There are three parking spaces. At the end it offers the way to the Mirador and there you can see the waterfall. The penultimate parking lot offers the most demanding route. The Sendero La Pava and La Catarata. Both lead to the river Orosi. The latter path. leads over two bridges. At the first parking lot you will find the Sendero Oropendula. The bottom bend is very easy to walk and there are countless picnic cottages.

You must not be disappointed if you do not see the big animals. It is just an open national park and not a zoo.

This national park protects a rainforest, so make sure to have correct clothes. An amazing cold and clear water river crosses the park. Great place to have a picnic, play in the water, explore, bird and butterfly watching. Communal spaces, bathrooms in good conditions. The price for nationals 800 colones and for foreigners $10

A lovely "small" national park. Small only because there are only 3 trails you can walk. However, we had a wonderful time there and we were mostly in our own, only saw about 4 people on the trails. Didn't see a whole lot of animals, however, we did get to see 2 coatis foraging up close.

It is a great place to do short trails. They keep up with the trails and the roads around the park. OJO, be careful before you go to buy your entrance tickets. You cannot enter the park if you do not have your reservation done. At present with COVID, there is a limited capacity to the park. You have to register at the official platform called SINAC. It is easy to register and your payment will arrive to your mail. Nice service, excellent parking area and restrooms. A nice place to visit if you stay in San José with nothing to do. It is in el Valle de Orosi near Cartago. Enjoy!

Awesome trip, we hike the easy and medium trails. Both actually are pretty easy, coming back to do the rest for sure.

Nice trails to walk. Carry umbrella / rain suit when you visit. Don't miss to see the amazing waterfall.

There are a couple of interesting hikes, depending on the recent weather and landslides that might have occurred. You could even stay within 100 ft of the parking lot and see enough. There is an easy hike down to the river, where you can jump in the cold water.

Tapantí is an excelent place to be in synch with nature.
The price is avg/high for foreigners.
You get to walk on different trails along the forest, you can go in one of Costa Rica's coldest river and have a great time.
There are some spots to sit and rest close to the river.

Very nice rainforest park, there are a few walking paths where you will find several different bird species, insects and reptiles, is not very far from San Jose about 90min by car, the road to get there is in good condition only the final 2km of unpaved road, entry fee is 800 Colones for TICOS and $5 I think for tourists, they have bathrooms, clean water and picnic tables. If you like walking and observing 🔭 it's a good place, not much else going on.

Simply beautiful. I went across this park on a motorcycle, allowed. The road may end at some points depending on weather conditions.
