Armonia Ambiental Lodge

Armonia Ambiental is our favorite place in Costa Rica. This farm is absolutely unique. As it's a family business, you get to meet everybody and feel like home. Also, there's plenty to do- hiking, waterfalls, treenets, coffee tours- and everything away from the noise and crowds of tourists. After traveling in Costa Roca for three weeks, we agreed that this was the place with the most Pura Vida ;)

I spent a couple of days at Armonia run by the warm Mora family. The Mom, Doña Noire, is a great cook, always ready to feed you. The food is excellent: Natural, fresh, organic, authentic, delicious! The Papa, Don Orlando, guides me to the cave and the surroundings. We found puma footprints. We gave guava fruits to their horse. We also played cards and shared histories. Regarding the sons, Dario took me to the waterfall and shared his photos of birds which he loves and have a great knowledge. I chatted with Nelson and Deily. They produce a very nice coffee.

If you want to experience the real rural Costa Rica, nice food, warm company and adventures, this is the place to go!

We only stayed a night but it was such a great experience. The family is amazing and incredibly hospitable. We camped in the driveway and had an amazing sunrise/sunset and view of the milky way. There’s a super cool waterfall 10 mins walking away, and we saw spider monkeys on the way back from it. Great food, great coffee, highly recommend making the stop. Probably good to have 4x4 but maybe possible without if you have good tires and a bit of clearance.

We stayed here 4 nights. We had a great time, enjoying the food and going on small hikes around the finca and village. Lots of waterfalls and nature to enjoy.
We also had a tour of how they make the coffee of which we drank so much.
While remote reaching the place wasn't too difficult. We took the bus from San Jose and they pick us up from the Interamericana for the descent down for a small cost.
I highly recommend it

This is such a wonderful place! We spent four nights there and had the best time exploring the waterfalls around (where we were always the only people), eating delicious homegrown and homemade food, drinking delicious coffee all day and learning about coffee farming and processing. The family made us feel super welcome and showed us a lot of great things around the finca. We didn't have a car, but we were picked up at the Interamericana highway, where a bus passes from San Jose every hour, so even if it is remote,  there is a way for people without a car! And once you are there, you can explore a lot on foot around the finca or sit on the beautiful terrace and enjoy the view of the mountains!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Armonia Ambiental Lodge for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer!! It was our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica during our 2 week trip. We were nervous about our tiny rental car without 4WD getting up and down the steep dirt road to the lodge, but we had no problem! The views were stunning, food was incredible, and we felt so welcomed our whole stay. Each member of the family contributed in their own way to our wonderful experience, including giving us a tour of the coffee fields, leading us to the waterfall trails, showing us the coffee bean processing, chatting about the ecology/history/culture of Providencia, and always ensuring we had plentiful delicious food at all times of the day. Their dogs even joined us on every hike we took and made great hiking companions! The accommodations were simple, but very comfortable. If you love beautiful hike adventures, exploring rivers, welcoming accommodations, and an intimate/relaxing atmosphere, you will love this place. A truly amazing experience!

We read about this place from quebuenlugar.com and it went above and beyond hour expectations. Doña Noire, her husband and two sons were so warm, welcoming and authentic. You can stay here for fairly cheap, really incredible food too. We had casado con pollo en salsa, butternut soup, cheesy potato and bread (plus juice and coffee) for 3/4mil. I can’t explain to how beautiful this valley is, and this family takes extra care to produce their food organically. We went on a tour around the farm and saw spider monkeys, toucanets, and so many cool plants. They also have a green house where they grow their own food. Later the oldest brother showed us El Pocerón, a really awesome waterfall just 5 mins in car from the house. It pays to speak spanish, but both sons are basically fluent in english too. I’ve traveled Costa Rica for a month and this honestly was honestly one of my best experiences. They produce their own coffee you can buy too!

Paradise! The most lovely and generous family. They took care of us with such warmth and generosity and their farm is a jewel. I can't wait to return again.

This is a hikers dream place!!! Such a welcoming family and very tasty food. We did a three day hike from here to Londres, pretty tough, but very very pretty in the jungle.

Amazing place! Great local community project, they have their own coffee, jam, eggs, everything! You need to come and see it!

Incredible experience here. The freshest home cooking with a mystical mountain vista and caring hosts.

Such a beautiful area, lifestyle and group of people

Llevamos 40 días en Costa Rica y este lugar ha sido uno de los lugares más especiales del viaje.
No voy a decir que el paisaje es único en el mundo pero si es muy muy bonito, es más bien un lugar perdido en las montañas, lejos del turismo… y de todo en realidad! Intentamos llegar en autostop y en 2 horas no pasó ni un solo coche (nos fuimos un domingo y si conseguimos hacer autostop)!
Doña Noire y Orlando (los padres) fueron un encanto. Me atrevo a decir que fueron las personas más genuinas y dulces de mi viaje. Doña Noira nos habló con mucha ilusión de su proyecto, que es sin duda algo extraordinario, sano, sabio y que el planeta tierra necesita. Y para mi fue muy mágico jugar con Orlando a Jumbling tower, agradecí muchísimo su invitación ya que en este viaje muchas veces me he sentido apenas “un cliente más”.
Los hijos son también muy amables, aunque ya más distantes (el más majo al final resultó ser el hijo mayor, que justo es el que no trata directamente con los clientes …y que de primeras parece no querer hablar con nadie), sinceramente me sentí un poco apartado y me dio pena porque me hubiera encantado compartir más con ellos, ya que se les ve muy interesantes.
Hicimos el tour de los pájaros con Darío. A pesar de sus 21 años es un pajarero increíble, lastima que no pudimos acabar el tour por su rodilla (pero si pudo ir a escalar poco después…), ni hacer el día después el tour del bosque por la misma razón (me hubiera gustado que confirmara que no podía hacerlo). Tampoco hicimos el tour del árbol porque la familia tenía otros compromisos. Fue un poco frustrante.
Por suerte si hicimos el tour medicinal con doña Noire y fue muy hermoso escuchar todo su amor hacia su tierra y sus plantas. Es de verdad una mujer muy sabia, y en muchos aspectos increíblemente moderna.
La primera noche la cena fue increíble, con creces la mejor del viaje. Los otros dos días estuvo también muy bien pero no tan increíble, supongo porque es una mujer con muchos frentes abiertos a la vez y no pudo dedicarle el mismo amor. Paso exactamente lo mismo con el desayuno.
Pero ojalá se viniera con nosotros a Mallorca! Sería el obeso más sano y feliz del mundo.
Recomiendo absolutamente visitarles, creo mejor hacerlo en la recta final de vuestro viaje, para apreciarlo incluso más.

Wir sind beim Wandern zufällig auf die Lodge und Familie Mora gestoßen, haben also nicht übernachtet. Dennoch wurden wir herzlich willkommen geheißen, durften über das Privatgrundstück einen tollen Wanderweg erkunden (mit den Hunden der Familie) und haben dann ein paar Tage später eine Tour über die Bio-farm mit agri-forestal-Konzept mit der kenntnisreichen Daily gemacht. Das war phantastisch und sehr lehrreich, die gesamte Familie ist sehr sympathisch. Eine unbedingte Empfehlung.

Maravillosa experiencia de turismo ambiental y conocimiento a adquirir sobre una producción de café sostenible y responsable! El lugar precioso y sus dueños maravillosos!

Si buscan la mejor experiencia de turismo rural en Costa Rica...no duden ni por un segundo en visitar Armonía Ambiental. La calidez de sus dueños, la comida 100% natural y deliciosa, el acogedor ambiente y las impresionantes montañas que lo rodean hacen de este lugar un lugar para cargar al 100% las baterías. Un destino que sin lugar a dudas el que lo visita, lo desea repetir.

Este lugar es mágico, solo la experiencia de llegar ya hace que sientas que estás en un lugar de paz, pero además la familia de Armonía ambiental te hace sentir en casa, doña Noiri te reciben con pancito fresco hecho en casa, mermelada casera, café, fresquitos de frutas, todo delicioso. Gracias a Nelson disfrutamos un día genial recorriendo cataratas de la finca y de la zona y al día siguiente disfrutamos dormir en el cavenet y Dei nos guió de forma maravillosa en la experiencia del treenet, pasamos un fin de semana espectacular en armonía ambiental. Y comimos delicioso. Nos encantó y de fijo volveremos.

Doña Noyli y familia super agradable y amable. Tomamos un delicioso café con pancito y mermelada hechos por doña Noily, en compañía de ella y su esposo y la pasamos muy bien. El café y la mermelada que compramos deliciosos. Mi próxima visita a Providencia será al lidhe6dd Noily.

Maravillosa familia de caficultores y tradición agrícola abre a sus puertas para explorar la reserva de biósfera savegre, en su parte del Cantón de Dota. Una gran oportunidad para disfrutar un ambiente natural extremo.
