Great local spot for lunch. I’ve been here many times and by far the best thing on the menu is the rice with shrimp. The dish is served with a side salad and french fries, the rice is flavorful and comes with a good amount of shrimp on it as well. We also ordered ceviche but forgot to specify that we wanted it with patacones, and the server had no problem taking it back and asking the cooks to whip up some patacones for us. Service was prompt and attentive. We also really enjoyed the iced chai tea. It is a great spot for a small group since it is a bit of a small restaurant. For being in the Manuel Antonio area, it is not badly priced although a bit pricier than a regular “soda” in Quepos.

La Cocina was our go-to spot for breakfast while we stayed in Quepos town. It is easy to find, friendly, very clean and we always found a table for 4 available. The menu has the typical Costa Rican breakfast options of "pinto" plus they did a great omelette, pancakes and an American style breakfast. Oh, and try the nachos too. Something for everybody. The service was smooth, the staff were warm and friendly and we always left satisfied. Breakfast for 4 was around $24 with coffee and drinks. Gives you a full belly to start the day of adventures.

Great little restaurant.
FYI: Went here as a vegetarian and everything eater. No Spanish.
Menu had a good variety, catering for me as a vegetarian as well. We got the chopped pork casado and the Aztec soup. Great portion size and great price. Also had smoothies. The ladies working there were really friendly. Can definitely recommend!!

This place is like going to grandma's house, in the best of ways! You can get casado of all kinds, guacamole, fresh juices, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and it's all made traditional tico-style by some sweet ladies who clearly are passionate about what they do. Everything is exceptional, but my favorites were the aztec soup -- DELICIOUS -- and the fresh Cas juice. I'd never had cas before and it's amazing. Prices are fair, not as cheap as we thought it would be but totally worth it. They also have Imperial beer for 1000 colones apiece.

Very good pancakes with chocolate and bananas. Good coffee. Very good value for money. Only had breakfast there twice. Open kitchen, everything made fresh

Part of the hostel right beside it and serves cheap affordable and tasty food. Went here after the bus got in late but too early for dinner. Large portions and quick. Friendly service!

The nachos were so filling and absolutely delicious. The prices are very reasonable! I had the beef nachos and passion fruit juice. We also tried a couple other juices they have, but found the passion fruit had the best and most prominent flavor.

Authentic place with delicious meals. I had the Aztec Soup. It's definitely in my top 3 best soup I ever had (and it was vegan).

Excellent food at an affordable price, especially considering what other restaurants charge in the area. They offer a breakfast menu from 6:30am-10am.

Our favorite regular restaurant in Quepos. Incredible food for an affordable price. My husband and I would split a meal here every time we’d visit, so we’d end up spending like $2.50 per person for a meal. Their fried plantains are better than any other restaurant I tried in the area over a 3 month stay. I crave their food all the time now!

Place looks really basic from the outside, but the food is pretty good. Rice with Calamari was delicious. The fish fillet was kind of bland but still okay. Quesadillas were also very good with hot sauce. This restaurant is also pretty close to Manuel Antonio National Park, making it a good stop for a late lunch.

The Casado is highly recommended! I had the chicken & my friend had the vegetarian dinner... hearty servings and great prices! If you are looking for a tasty meal - you should stop here! We were on a tour w/ a guide at Manuel Antonio National Park and this place was recommended.

This was one of my favourite places to eat in Quepos when I lived there last year, I ate there a few times a week! The staff are absolutely lovely and it’s super clean in there and very reasonably priced! I recommend the Casado nachos and chicken and rice! The passion fruit juice is also delicious! Highly recommended!

Interesting little place with delicious food. Cons: Since the restaurant serves as the main restaurant for the hostel next door, there will sometimes be a wait for your food. The restaurant area is fairly small so it might be a tight fit if you have a big group. Lastly, the neighborhood isn't exactly pristine at night so car travel is likely necessary to reach the spot.
Other than that, this small restaurant hits the spot with delicious (and plentiful) food at great prices. We were very satisfied with the service, they changed parts of the order when we requested and any mix ups were quickly addressed and apologized for. I would highly recommend La Cocina if you are in Manuel Antonio or Quepos and looking for a bite.
