How to get there: on Google maps look for "Casa Aquiares lodge", leave the car outside of this place and walk down the road to the left. Look at my last picture to know where the trail down to the Waterfall starts

Beautiful hike - off the beaten track.

Each way takes roughly 40’. During our 3 hour trip we only passed by one other group.

On the way down - stick always to the right until you arrive to the river bed. Once arrived there you have to pass the river (knee high) to reach the taller waterfall.

Really great place, depending on who gives you directions, yiu might get lost a couple of tines lol , but the extra walk is worth it. During rainy season just be aware or vigilant of the water coming from the mountains.

Can’t miss this waterfall! Easy 30 min hike each way. •Start at Ceiba Tree “Natural Monument”. •Pass yellow chain and walk down hill. •Every time you meet an intersection take a right. •You’ll eventually come to a small waterfall, admire then keep going further to large waterfall. •You’ll come to the river, you will hear the large waterfall at this point •Follow to the right as long as you can, you’ll have to cross a bit. Enjoy!

Free to go to but make sure you follow the right directions - you can follow google maps part way but turn next to the big historical tree, take your first immediate left then all rights. There’s a smaller waterfall right off the road on your way. Keep going. When you get to the bamboo, park. Then it’s a short walk to the falls.

Not developed, but a famous natural attraction. Be sure to realize the larger, more famous falls is after a smaller, split falls to the right of the trail.
A famous Ceiba tree marked as a natural monument is just uphill from the downhill gravel road...stay left at the first junction right off the pavement, then keep to the right for the shortest steepest route from Aquiares to the Aquiares waterfall.

Beautiful country! The hike is only like 15 minutes from the road. Well worth it.

Nice way to spend the morning with family and friends. Where we parked on road we had to just follow the sound of the river to find the falls. No signs thru the coffee plantation.

Lovely waterfall. A little bit if a hike but totally worth it!

Amazing local waterfall to visit on your own. $4 cab ride from town and we walked back. Total hidden gem!

The mighty Pacuare River just washed the path away so only the intrepid and/or foolhardy can reach this incredible waterfall as of September 2021
