Great spot to stop for coffee and breakfast- it’s on the way from Coco to Monteverde Cloud Forest park. The food was perfect, as was the coffee…go with one of the traditional Costa Rican breakfast options.

Great tasting food, good service, excellent prices and super clean bathroom - all the components needed for a good restaurant. Typical Costa Rican food, nothing gourmet but full of flavor (which is not always the case with food in CR). I had shrimp fried rice with salad, hubs had a thin steak with grilled onions, flavorful beans and white rice. Be sure to ask for the “Chile Casero,” which is a homemade spicy salsa. All that for $8 total. Also, ample parking and easy on/off of Route 1.

Best Gallo Pinto I’ve had here in Costa Rica. The arroz cantones is also delicious. The staff is amazing here too. Ask for Kenneth. He was magnificent!

We stopped here during our road trip through Costa Rica. We had the chicken and the fish meals with rice, beans, and a plantain. Everything tasted good, and the prices were very reasonable. Our meal was $10. Plus, the food came out very quick! We would come here again!

We stopped here on our way to Nicoya for a quick snack. I ordered a ceviche and a mint lemonade and it was exquisite. My family ordered some patacones, queso frito and chifrijol and there wasn’t a thing that didn’t taste amazing. The food came out quick and our waiter Carlos was wonderful. Even the beer was frosty and perfect for a hot day. If I ever pass by Limonal again I will 100% stop by Donde Zelmi.

Der Service ist wirklich gut und auch englischsprachig. Essen wird toll serviert und schmeckt wunderbar. Die Portionen sind großzügig.
