Skip the pricey hotel restaurants and come here for authentic food and economical prices.

We enjoyed our stop here for lunch! We had a good chicken and beef meal. We also enjoyed the butterfly garden - you can tell the host is passionate about her butterflies and knows a lot!!

Super cool out of the way place. Part of our guided tour thing. Food was definitely decent. There's a butterfly garden attached, that was worth it just for that. Amazing to see these places and they have very nice bathrooms for an out of the way place.

Had a great lunch here! The fish casado was delicious, I ate every last bite. We stopped here as a part of a tour and that was a great experience because our tour guide called the order in ahead and food was ready when we got to our table. We even got a little cup of rice pudding for dessert that was just the right amount of sweet.

Great find in an area with few options. A restaurant used by all the organised tours. Parking outside. Price is very cheap, service great, Doña very sweet, food was actually pretty good (though we were hungry). AND THERE'S A BUTTERFLY GARDEN! Bonus free nicety.

Highly recommend this hidden gem. We stopped here for lunch after a visit to a sloth sanctuary. Great atmosphere. It was authentic Costa Rican food (rice, black beans, vegetables, salad and a protein of your choice) with amazing flavor. They also had fresh tamarind juice. Dessert was a delicious rice pudding with cinnamon. After our meal we were able to see the butterfly garden which was a beautiful experience.

What a great place! We enjoyed the Aztec soup and a casado with mixed beef and chicken. Both were excellent and very inexpensive. The casado came with a large mug of tamarindo juice and a tiny serving of tasty homemade rice pudding. They also include free admission to their really nice enclosed butterfly garden. This place was tryly a treat for the senses. It's no suprise that tour groups frequent this spot.

The food was fresh and delicious. Butterfly exhibit was a bonus as I wasn't expecting it. I wish I could live close enough to return and try more dishes.

Walking into the restaurant felt like what adam would have felt walking through a garden curated by God's hand . The variety of plants and flowers, the painting of the walls, the colors of the flowers and the plants, the tables that were meticulously made. The place felt more like a museum with its paintings, sculptures, and abundance of certain kind of plants used for decoration and materials. The place felt like a paradise, a haven, a garden in a place that looked like the woods. The butterflies came to life around us as the little boy, the son of the proprietor, looked at us and smiled

Delicious and authentic Costa Rican cuisine! Our friend Norman brought us here while on an all day adventure with him, and it was absolutely amazing!

According to our guide here has the authentic Costa Rican food. Very nice chicken. But the high light is definitely the butterflies, good amount of them flying around. Feels magical!
