What a great place! Everyone is so friendly. Great coffee at the coffee shop. Got a flat white and it was perfect. Grabbed some provisions at “wholefoods” - local baked bread, delicious and cheap. Cute souvenir shop, flat grassy area for kids to run around. This is a great local hang.

Best cassado we had in Costa Rica. Made with love and it shows! Highly suggest this place, big portions, fair pricing and amazing flavor.

I have to start by saying, that this was the best food I had in all of Costa Rica. We decided to go in after a long walk from our hostel and we came back every other day after that. The staff is extremely friendly and they will try their best to give you suggestions. The menu is extensive, but everything we tried was to die for. I loved their Olla de Carne (beef stew). It was sooooo delicious and hearty. They only serve it 3 days a week, so you might have to ask if they have some from the previous day, which we did and would highly suggest. We also had their tortilla con aracache after someone else on the store suggested it. It was also delicious. They do serve the desserts and drinks, but we did not get any. They accept both cash and card, and you pay at the souvenir shop after you finish eating.
The only drawback of this place, is that it is a little hard to find, as it is at the back of the building and you have to go through the souvenir store.

Very delicious local food! At reasonable price!

A bar with typical Costa Rican cuisine. We tried several dishes. Delicious fruit juices, good Casado and Falitas De Pollo. Large portions and very attractive prices. A place for locals and back packers.

Really nice authentic restaurant in the back of a gift shop. The food tasted really good, some might find it a bit too greasy.

This is my favorite soda in the country, and there are two extremely strong equal reasons for this: they have the best casado (carne en salsa is my go-to) and they play 80s MTV.
I wish the people there seemed a fraction of how happy this place makes me. I hope they like it there. It’s a lovely place.

Food was good. I don’t really understand why they wait 5 minutes before your food to give you coffee and water. But it was good. Less busy that Stella’s

Loved this place! The food reminds me so much the food my grandma used to cook for our family. The place is small and a little tricky to find because the signage is not obvious it's but worth it.

We had a lunch in their bistro/restaurant - tasty tender and juicy chicken with a rice, beens and salads. Great food for a reasonable price and very friendly staff at the desk. Guava fresh juice was also very nice after the lunch. You can buy some stuff in the shop in the building, and have a coffee in the coffee center next to it.

Looks like a regular souvenir shop but actually is a heaven or handmade products by local women, and a nonprofit!

I was told by a local this is one of the last authentic places in Monte Verde. Great food, good prices and very chill. Very simple place, has free WiFi. Very friendly people.

Super healthy and filling meal for lunch, delicious flavors with good variety of food. Small, authentic place, hidden gem.

This restaurant is an absolute must. Really delicious and authentic costa rican food. Its a bit hard to find but this is a hidden gem. I highly recommend everyone going there if you are in town.

Yummy food! The cheese empanada is amazing!

Both carne en salsa and beef soup were delicious. Really enjoyed the juices too.

The food is homemade, simple and delicious. Even juice drinks are made without syrop. We had Pollo casado, lengua in salsa, and Olla de res (beef stew).

The restaurant is hidden away in the back of the shop. Very good food, large portions at a low cost.

This location helps women and the community with their art and food. The food itself was great, you must try the fried cheese when there. The price was good for Monteverde and the art was beautiful.
