Easy 20 min hike to a great waterfall and swimming hole. Waters a little chilly but a cool experience nonetheless the less! Very refreshing. Was happy to meet the shop keeper and his dog Bailey :) easily a cheap fun hour or so to spend near Stella’s

Great shorter trail leading to a secluded waterfall that you can swim in. Super cold water but a nice place to visit at the end of the day. Friendly host that spoke flawless
English. Cheap entry fee too.

Quick hike down to a lovely waterfall in which you can swim. Beautiful nature surrounds you. Be prepared for a lot of stairs on the way back up! We enjoyed the banter with the person at the ticket booth. She even offered to call us a cab on our way out.

This beauty is worth the $6 and descending for a small 10 minutes. The waterfall itself is located in between to rock walls overgrown with beautiful tree roots and bushes. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely hike with a few bridges and pretty waterfall! The trail is well maintained, be prepared for some steps! Car parking is available, and only $6 entrance fee per person. This activity is pet friendly, we brought our leashed dog. Don’t forget waste bags, and always be respectful of others and wildlife with your pet :)

We enjoyed the beautiful hike and stunning waterfall. Before we even began, our host at the trailhead pointed out a toucanette nest and we enjoyed watching the parent birds with their young .

We still had a few hours until our bus left, so we decided to go here. No regrets, it's a really lovely place to spend 1-2 hours. There's a little walk through the forest, down into the valley, then along a little creek that ends in a really nice waterfall. We saw lots of little birds, butterflies and sooo many busy little leaf cutter ants.

Of course, if you're hiking in the mountains, surrounded by rain forest, you should bring sturdy shoes and prepare for rain.

Absolutely worth the stop on the way to the cloud forest. Kelly was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the area as a whole and provided excellent recommendations! The water was cold but refreshing. The trails were extremely well maintained and you could tell that this place was cared for with love. Highly recommend!

Great little hike for a cheap price down to an impressive waterfall. We were lucky enough to see Capuchin's, Agouti's, Motmot's, Hummingbirds as well as other birds I have yet to identify. We paid over twice the price to hike trails in reserves surrounding this and saw nothing each time, so this was an unexpected and rather nice surprise!

A great 20 minute hike down to the waterfall. The waterfall area is excellent. Too cold to swim in the late afternoon. Really enjoyed the whole vibe and feel of the place. Exceptional value for Monteverde where other attractions can be expensive.

Very cool and semi-secret place to visit! You just have to pay $6 at the gate and then you can walk yourself down to the waterfall. The walk down was easy and clear to follow straight to the waterfall. We were able to swim around for a while and then hiked back up the stairs when we were ready. One of our favorite waterfalls of the whole trip!

awesome little waterfall hike. was $6 usd at the gate i think. maybe 20 minutes down to the falls. if you go in the late afternoon, walk back towards town for 5 or 10 minutes and you will come across the best mirador in monteverde to watch the sunset. enjoy!

A hidden gem, a little off the beaten track, and at only $6 a real find. There is a 20 minute walk, down rickety steps and paths, to an oasis waterfall grotto which is absolutely stunning. The water is clear fast and beautifully chilled and the pool is sandy underfoot. This has become my new happy place, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

When we went around 14:00 there was no one there. $6 entry, fairly easy short hike.

We went on a whim and found it off of AirBnB... We initially thought it was a tour when in all reality, it is a self-guided walk but well worth the $12 we spent :-)

They open at nine, and when I say 9 am, I mean 😆 nice walk down if you have back or knee problems; this might not be for you.

Really lovely walk down to a waterfall. Some steep stairs but only a 15-20 min walk down. Great for bird watching and only $6 to enter. The people who run this are from the same families that started the preservation of Monteverde and the money goes towards continuing that work.

A gem! We were glad we made our reservation for when the sun was overhead so the light was good. The hike down is maybe 7 stories down varying height earthen steps and over tree roots and up a rocky creek bank, so be sure footed. This was a 2000 colones taxi ride from Santa Elena and a 30ish minute walk back.

Very nice waterfall! Well worth the $6. Other reviews undersell the difficulty of the walk though, it may be done in about 15-20 minutes, sure, but it's largely vertical. Great place to chill out for a bit and enjoy the cascading water at the end of the little hike!

Nice walk down to the waterfall where you can take a fresh bath. 6€ per person. Not many people there, a nice spot.

For 6 dollars, I think the 15-20min hike is really worth.

It is not something spectacular but it is a lovely waterfall and a chilling, relaxing place
