La Taki-Cardia

After spending the morning at a nearby trail farm, we were hungry for some good food at San Pedro de Poas. The top rated place we found is La TakiCardia, and for a good reason: good service, good drinks and good food. First of all, they have parking spots, which is not common in Costa Rica locations, and the place was clean, and well taken care of. The mexican style decorations are not as abundant, but just enough to make you feel at a Mexican place. Our food was good. There is a combo of 4 types of tacos, made of beef, cicken, pork and shrimp. It was good, but the beef was not as tender as you'd want. This was the only flaw they had. However, the rest of the food was amazing. They have a plate made of seasoned fries topped with shrimps... wow! Very good. We also had the gringas with their home made habanero sauce... if you like tasty sauces TRY IT! It gives food a higer dimension. Nice place to visit in Poas.

The staff were friendly, spoke English, and served us very quickly. The veggies were super fresh and the meat was grilled and seasoned to perfection.

La Taki-Cardia is my new favorite place to grab a quick bite in the San Pedro Poas area. Looking forward to going back tomorrow after our volcano hike!

This was hands down the BEST food recommendation of our whole two-week trip in Costa Rica. La Taki-Cardia was conveniently recommended by an Airbnb host - the restaurant was familiar with our stay and quickly suggested we sit back & allow them to deliver (we offered to drive). Mind you, we called them 10 mins or less before they closed - and they ensured us our order was no trouble at all. The veggie tacos were the BEST I ever had! I am a vegetarian and the options available at Mexican restaurants for me are usually slim pickings or loaded with beans. Every taco I have ate after La Taki-Cardia has been such a disappointment. I can't stop thinking about these tacos - don't miss out on an unforgettable experience. Wish I had photos to share but i was totally mesmerized.

The best Mexican food in Costa Rica

Un lugar muy agradable, limpio y cómodo. Fui un día entre semana con amigos y estuvo genial. Volví el fin de semana con mi familia. La comida muy buena y la atención también.

Me gustó! Creo que las porciones son bastante pequeñas, podrían mejorar en eso. También me parece que le falta más el sabor de chile. Nos recibieron con nuestras mascotas y les dieron agua.

Excelente atención y la comida 10/10. Pocas opciones pero todas deliciosas. Algunas recetas no son 100% originales mexicanas pero para mí son incluso mejores. Los esquites, los nachos de birria o las papas mixtas son espectaculares.

La carne al pastor.. Uffff de muerte lenta

El local es lindisimo, muy amplio. La comida es muy buena en sabor pero poca en cantidad si eres de buen comer (te gusta quedar repleto), los precios son accesibles y el servicio es muy atento y rapido para servir. El parqueo es pequeño (comparte con otros locales), aceptan tarjetas.

La comida es deliciosa. Las papas vegetarianas son una opción veggie excelente, con los suficientes sabores. Me gustaron porque, aunque son una opción veggie, no son sosas. El fresco de crema en agua sabía bastante rico, aunque un poco dulce. El servicio estuvo genial. El ambiente también estuvo bueno. Los precios están bien por la comida, el servicio y el sabor que ofrecen.

La nourriture était excellent et très accessible. Le lieu est petit, mais très convivial et agréable. Il y a aussi la possibilité d'emporter son repas.
Carlos, Isaac et Marta sont vraiment adorables et sympathiques. Ils ont embelli notre soirée qui était mal partie!
