Eddy's Bioluminescence

Man this guy Eddy reminds me of some of the crazy watermen i know. So knowledgeable, funny and wild! Not a dull moment with him. Took my family for an overland tour to Costa Rica and met him and it translated to epic times! Mucho gusto Senor 🫵🏾🤙🏾🇨🇷

Eddy took us (my partner, 7 year old son, and two young teen girls) out for bioluminescence. Was super fun and he was a wonderful guide! Also the science was interesting and well presented (we are biology professors so we might be geekier than others ;)). Highly recommended!

Eddy was the best, he went above and beyond to show us the best spots...
Did not dissappoint. All in a day we saw spider monkeys, ate fresh oysters. snorkel in the best spots, very good lunch in the the island and showed us fhe best of the best of the bioluminescence. YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST TIME WITH EDDY 👍🏼

My partner and I had a fantastic night with Eddy! We got very lucky and planned the night safari on the new moon, so the algae was magical. There’s no words to describe how beautiful the water was - you just need to do this tour!

Great tour and Eddy is quite the character on top of knowing every nook and cranny where you can find the bioluminescence! Highly recommend! We did it with our kids who are 9 and 13 and they enjoyed it thoroughly!

Our time with Eddy was amazing. As a local, Eddy is super knowledgeable about the different places that have the best concentrations of the bioluminescent algae, and because of this, we were able to see super bright bioluminescence. This is a must-do experience during your time in Costa Rica!!

This was an awesome experience!! Swing the sparkles in the water, watching how agitation lights up the organisms - it’s a really unique experience. And Eddy is fun, has a fantastic contagious attitude, and is happy to share tons of information regarding the area, including the science behind the glow. Well worth the long trip (for us) to the Nicoya Peninsula.

We had such an amazing experience on our kayaking trip. First, I would like to express my appreciation for being willing to load up and take us out on a moments notice; I literally requested the trip on moments notice and we were on the water within two hours. The kayaking was fantastic, and the bioluminescence algae spectacular. He was so very patient with us, especially my children, and was able to answer all our questions. I look forward to going out again next time we’re in town. Thank you for helping make one of my dreams a reality!

Had a great time on the tour! We opted for the boat instead of kayaks and Eddy did great taking us to the spots where the Bioluminescence was so bright! It was like a universe of stars in the water!!

It was so magical! Eddy made us feel like we were in the Avatar movie! He explained the biology to us in clear and simple terms. What a special experience, definitely choose Eddy for the best bioluminescence experience in Paquera!

Eddie was AMAZING! He knew all the best spots for bioluminescence and truly made the best experience. The road there was smooth enough for our sedan.

Once in a lifetime experience! We were blown away by Eddy’s energy, knowledge, & hospitality. He knew exactly where to go to find the most vibrant bioluminescent plankton! We rented a kayak and enjoyed the experience as we had more mobility and freedom to splash and play.

If you are on the peninsula, you MUST go see Eddy! His hospitality alone is top notch. It was one of the children’s birthday and he got everyone to sing along and wish him a happy birthday!

My only tip would be make sure you are not typing in Bioluminescence Costa Rica, but Eddys Bioluminescence to get in direct contact with him vs an agent.

Anyone who wanted to got in the water and swam with the plankton! Truly a once in a lifetime experience. THANK YOU EDDY!

Big up Eddy! After 30+ years in the bioluminescent business, the man knows his stuff. He knows the tides, he knows the wind and he knows where to find the glowing water. Come with 'ganas' to paddle and you will see multiple spots with different colors. 110% reccomend Eddy and will be back in the not so distant future.

Eddy is awesome, really knowledgeable and a great personality. Recommend doing the later start if possible, the darker out the better!

Wonderful tour, fabulous guide! Such a beautiful experience, Eddy took us to many great spots and we saw the bioluminescence very well it was so bright! It looks like beautiful fairy sparkles under the water and on your hand. A truly magical experience! Eddy was super friendly, ensured we were all safe and was super helpful getting our older family members in and out of the boat. He is very knowledgeable and is happy to share all he has to know about this natural phenomenon. Highly recommend doing this in Costa Rica! One thing to note is that before you get on the boat, the misquotes might be bad so I also highly suggest applying bug spray before hand. They won’t bother you at all once on the water though! Thank you Eddy!!

Incredible! I was like a little child. Eddy is so friendly and warm! You can’t help but feel his passion for what he does! Perfect setting. He led us through the perfect experience. We went by boat and were led to several different spots. He was kind to my kids. I could not recommend Eddy and his tour more!!
