Stella's Monteverde

This cafe is so cute! We had a great time dining here and seeing the beautiful nature surrounding the cafe. We had the pancakes, cinnamon bun, watermelon smoothie and a house drip coffee. The staff is very friendly and explained all the pastries they have available in the cafe. This was the perfect stop after visiting the cloud forest!

You can't beat the atmosphere, the grounds are beautiful. Don't sit anywhere but outside! I'd stay here all day. A true tropical oasis. Food was delicious as well. Loved the fresh fruit and lasagne.

Stella's Monteverde lives up to its great reputation for good food, good service, and a beautiful atmosphere. We came here for an early dinner, so we didn't see too many birds, but we hope to wake up early and come by tomorrow before we head out of the area. The passionfruit cheesecake and Stella's soup are to die for. We also had the lasagna, which was very hearty after a full day of hiking at the nearby reserve.

The staff here are very nice and our waiter said he made some of the cakes and desserts which were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful while you may get surprise visits from a monkey. The food was excellent in taste and of course the coffee was delicious!

A nice stop in between activities for food and drinks. We ordered the Chicken sandwich that was on a great tasting fresh bread. Also the Keto salad was a nice large salad with avocado artichokes chicken and lots of other toppings. I think the Frappe coffee was my favorite! Slightly sweet but refreshing! Also the Pastries all looked so good we ordered the pineapple pie and loved it
The garden in the back with seating was very pretty. Parking was easy and this was as a good location to two walks we did

Loved this place, came here twice we liked it so much! Great menu, made it hard to decide on dishes - all dishes were great once they came. All food was fresh and freshly baked, interesting flavoring of honey with eggs on avocado toast. Beautifully presented, only made us want to enjoy it even more.
A small garden attracts animals and birds, make sure to look around. Music is selected to set the mood, which I especially liked (breakfast was a tad more upbeat, dinner times was bossa nova).
Come try, you'll be glad you did!

Very nice patio with a beautiful garden and great ambiance. Food was delicious, we had the french toast and omelette. Staff was friendly and fast service. I definitely recommand this place!

We wanted to try some new restaurants in Monteverde during our recent visit and had a late lunch at Stella's. We liked it so much we went back the next day.

We liked their menu, it was different from the typical Costa Rican soda menu. On the first day we had a grilled chicken breast sandwich and a veggie burrito. On our 2nd visit we each had a pasta dish. Everything was great.

We sat outside on both visits, and got to see some birds and monkeys. Never trust a monkey around food, I'm convinced they were scheming on how to steal food. But some kids chased them away before they had the chance.

Very good experience here! Excellent food and amazing service. The Chai Latte was very good and the food made with fresh ingredients. Apparently monkeys come to visit here once in a while too, but we don’t see any.

Very tasty food, good service, gorgeous back patio. The food has a range of traditional breakfast options and wraps/salads/sandwiches/pastas. Grateful to the waiter, who also had lots of good recommendations of other good spots in Monteverde!

Delicious food. Super friendly staff and charming atmosphere. Price is fair for the quality and service. We stayed 3 days in Monteverde and visited the cafe every day for breakfast or a grab and go coffee . The best place to get a visit from little monkeys.

Stella’s Cafe is definitely a gem that excels in creating a welcoming space with delicious offerings.

Good food and coffee. Saw tons of monkeys while sitting on their patio which was a cool experience. Lots of exotic birds in the large jungle trees across the street, too.

We LOVED this restaurant, so much that we ate here both days in Monteverde! The menu is big and diverse and everything we ate was delicious! We had the smoothie bowl, omelette, typical breakfast, but my favorite was the avocado toast!! It was loaded up with scrambled eggs and goat cheese and was absolutely divine. We loved the outdoor garden area, although we were slightly disappointed to not see any monkeys like we had heard about on travel blogs! We did see tons of birds though and the garden was lovely, so it was an enjoyable place to start the day. The coffee was delicious and service was great.

Have been to Stella's twice now, and the food is just fantastic. Try the Huevos Ranchero and finish with the passion fruit chees cake. They have feeding station in the back for bird watching in the back as you eat. Highly reccomend!

It's a fantastic place. The waiters are lovely and super friendly.

The vegan wrap was out of this world, so juicy and flavourful. Lasagna was very descent too. When you see their desserts, you immediately know that these guys know what they're doing, carrot cake with lemon icing is not to be missed.

The highlight of our lunch was two pretty mot-mot that came to feed on bananas.
We'll definitely come here again when we're in Monteverde.

Delicious breakfast options including gallo pinto, jammy pancakes, and fresh juices. Drip coffee was solid, too. Best part was the monkeys and shaded garden patio!

Great spot for a coffee and some tasty cake.
The staff are so friendly and attentive and speak very good English.
We didn’t see any animals unfortunately but still a gorgeous place to relax.
