Lake View Hostel

The Lake View is a fantastic hostel! The staff exude great vibes and are incredibly helpful. The dorms boast personal curtains and are kept super clean, with showers and personal lockers available in the main area. They also offer a great breakfast for a reasonable price. Additionally, the kitchens are clean, and the wall drawings add to the ambiance. Just one thing to note: the restaurant is closed on Friday evenings, and breakfast is not offered on Saturdays.

Really nice hostel. Clean rooms, (very!) tasty breakfast, and with a beautiful view on the lake. Close to the centre also, although not tóó close, so no noise in the evening and night. Worth the money, I can definitively recommend this place...

Staff spoke english, and were v helpful.
I did the boat tour, which i recommend.
The Thai resto was closed, but the menu looked good!

Friendly hostel with English speaking employees, they have organized tours you can pick from with kayaks available to rent. The Thai restaurant and bar on the third floor is amazing and Javid will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. They will also transport you to the airport at your request for 180,000 cop. They sent me with a guy named Eban Martinez and by the end of our hour and a half drive to the airport I now call him a friend. He was also a very safe driver ! Will be back for sure

Chill and cozy hostel with views of the river and privacy curtains in the local end of town. Not a super social vibe, unless you make it happen. Especially since top floor is a (good) restaurant. Nice staff, but offered activities were a little more expensive than in town. Overall a really nice place!

Good hostel, friendly staff. They offer many activitities and serve breakfast. The dorms are spacious and clean, the shared rooms are big and there is a thai restaurant in the building.

We had a great stay in the lake view hostel - Guatapé! We appreciated the chill vibe & rest after strolling in the crowded centre. The room was clean, had a nice lake view and the staff was friendly. The Thai food was delicious & the driver who took us to the airport afterwards was super sweet!😊

We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. The room was clean and the beds are super comfy.
They have a nice rooftop and a kitchen and a shared area. At the rooftop there is a Thai-restaurant. The food was ok, but nothing special and a little expensive.
The center of Guatape is in a walkable distance.
Overall - highly recommend to stay here.

Nice hostel. Close to the city centre, in a quiet area.
The installions are clean, bed are confortable enough. The only weird thing is that almost none of the rooms have windows on the outside, they all open in a closed patio/livin room downstairs.
On the 3rd floor, a beautiful space with tables, sofa, bar and a small terrace to enjoy the view of the lake. They are selling diferentes breakfast in the morning which are at a fair price for the amount of good you get !
I think if you're not coming in low season like I did, it's a nice place to meet backpackers!

Best Hostel in Guatape. Good idea to book ahead. Nice Happy Hour. Best restaurant in Town (Thai Food). It's the scene for South American travelers. Boats, Bikes, Kayaks, Hiking, Motos, Quiet part of Town but close to everything. The Dorms are nice but the Private rooms with a Balcony are the best.

Wonderful place to stay in Guatapé! Close to center, bus, restaurants and lake/ boats. Enjoyed the private room, which was very clean. There is a kitchen one can use and the guys offer activities and help with arranging whatever you would like to do. We rented kajaks and a motorcycle. The staff was always friendly! Due to the circumstances the Restaurant is closed at the moment. We had a great time there and definitely recommend this hostel!

Lake View Hostel is an amazing experience. The Hostel common areas were well kept, our room (4 person mixed dorm) was clean with clean sheets. There are plenty of shared washrooms with showers and they were also well kept by the cleaning staff.
The front of house and cleaning staff spoke great English and were very helpful and patient with all our questions.
There is a Thai Restaurant on the 3rd floor (open for Breakfast and Dinner-happy hour 5:30-7:30pm), and the food was delicious and fresh (the chef trained in Thai Cuisine and it reflected greatly on the flavors of the dishes). We had a few different meals and were never disappointed, but we would highly recommend the Pad Thai!
Lake View Hostel is also partnered with Getaway Colombia. A recreational equipment rental company. You can get discounts on rentals depending on the length of your stay at the hostel.
We took kayaks out on the water twice and had a great time exploring the waterways around the town.

We went here for dinner and had high quality, tasty Thai food. I had Pad Thai, my ‘go to’ to test the quality of a Thai restaurant and it came out well within the top half,

There is a good choice on the menu, with both vegetarians and meat eaters well catered for. It is a little more expensive than other local options, but still good value.

Happy hour is good value, though the daiquiris are not so hot.

Great hostel if staying in Guatape town, reachable wiht a short 10min walk. Very cheap & safe. Helpful staff also arranges boat tours, moto rentals and other activities.

Enjoyed the private room. Some people had an impromptu oldies music show next door which was really fun to listen to. The restraunt upstairs was great! Beware of the fishbowl! It packs a punch. If you are going out of your way to visit make sure that the water level in the lake is replenished. Climate change hit this place pretty hard when I was there.

Go here! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean hostel. Breakfast tasted great (~10'000COP) and the thai rastaurant was tasty as well. Bed was comfortable - no bed curtains. It has a nice view from the balcony and it's in walking distance to the centre. Quiet neighbourhood.

fell in love with this hostel during my time in Guatape! The staff went above and beyond to make sure all the guests needs were met. The dorms were spacious and clean. The Thai restaurant upstairs was amazing, delicious Thai food made from fresh local ingredients, didn't disappoint. For 10,000cop you can get a gourmet breakfast, great value for money. They also offer tours and equipment like mother bikes and kayaks to rent. Couldn't fault this hostel!!!

Amazing views to the water. Conveniently located on the outskirt of Gautape with everything Gautape has to offer within walking distance. Valery and Javier are awesome hosts and the place is clean freshly remodeled with modern touches everywhere including tile shower with hot water. Safe and secure.

We had an excellent Thai dinner and were treated very well by all the staff. Prices are reasonable. It's a nice change of pace from the 95% of restaurants in Guatape that serve 'tipico' meals heavy in meat and fried food

We did not stay here but rented SUP boards and went Supping on the lake. Good service, we got a free drink while the lady explained the rules for using the SUP boards and reasonable prices. We were the only ones there, it was very relaxing. We rented the Sup boards for an hour so we did not make it to the Penol rock but if your rent longer you can sup to the rock and back.
