God, "The Great Designer" of nature and all things therein always get 5 stars!! Keep in mind, there is one way up and one way down and no other options, plenty of spaces to regain your energy and should take no more than 30 comfortable and amazing minutes, take plenty of pictures to remember that journey up and down those 700+ steps, enjoy the young ladies selling items at the top and bless those your minds!

Great view of the surrounding lakes / water ways. Though, when I was there, water was 40% lower... the climb was down is bay a bit of a que, so I couldn't lose breath. ( was holiday)

Wow! Just wow! This is a must do activity. The stairs are not that bad. You can do it! The experience and views are so worth it! Don't forget sun block and water. Lots of vendors around for gifts, snacks, food, souvenirs. Pretty popular place. Probably going to be crowded. I recommend 100%

If you can exercise for 25 minutes, you can climb to the top 😉. The views are worth the effort 👌.

Amazing view! 100% worth a visit, of course the hike up there is a bit exhausting, but you can get all kinds of drinks up there to refresh yourself.
On top and also before you click up, you have a lot of souvenir stores and also a few restaurants. Restrooms are also available.

The 650 steps getting up there to the top were tough going, but absolutely worth the stunning views from the top. Looks very similar to Ha Long Bay in Vietnam from up there. Well worth the lung busting stairclimb! A must try!

God's handwork will always get my 5 stars! Although at first look those numerous steps seem intimidating, but there are actually (2) sets of steps [up and down steps]...should relieve some of your anxieties of not reaching the top. Also, there is no option of returning once starting on your journey upward. Enjoy the experience!

To climb there are 708 steps but everybody can do it. You just have to take it at your own pace. I did it in 12 minutes 6 seconds. FYI once you're down and take a sit your legs will be shaking so bad but it is normal

Is tired, to go upstairs, is a nice view, but I won't be back, is a lot steps just to see nothing. I had fun but just one time in life for el pen̈ol is fine.

700 steps to climb up the rock. It feels intense at times but very manageable - even if you're not too fit. Just have a few breaks on the way up! But the views are totally worth it! Incredible!!

There are plenty of drinks and food vendors at the top so you can stop for a while to take in the views. Gift shops too. Gets very busy!

A beautiful area that everyone should go to if they have the chance. Even the climb up can challenge the fittest person to the top but it's a good challenge. It gives you the perfect amount of work that you feel absolute gratification when you reach the top

Easy and wonderful going up.
At the top, all the snacks are expensive, so you might want to pack your own. For examples, the Popsicles in the plastic cups were 23k COP which I bought.

The entrance was 25k COP.
The tuktuk from the city to the top of the hill is 20k COP. If you want to drop off from the bottom, it's 12k COP.

When you finish, and walk all the way to the bottom, the tuktuk are at the gas stations waiting, I paid 15k COP for the bus station back to medellin.

Loved the climbing experience!!
It is worth the views once you reach the top.
Eldery will struggle with the hike, especially overweight Americans. If you think you can make it atleast try!
Beautiful place and very cool rock.

Lots of people going up the stairs but definitely worth the climb for the spectacular views. Took approximately 16-17 minutes to go up the stairs due to the amount of people in front of you. That includes making several stops on the way up because of traffic and 15second rests

Absolutely magnificent drive and walk. We had an incredible amount of fun and truly enjoyed this experience. It was a lot of walking but it was well worth it!!! Parking easy and it was just a lot of fun.

The view is nice, it take roughly 15min to climb the stairs. The stairwell is well maintained and there’s food and drink on the top.

Breathtaking views, literally! It's a fair hike to the top totalling just over 700 steps. I had to stop several times for breathers but definitely worth it. I got myself a mango ice block which was a real treat.

700 steps to an incredible view. The starting point is on top of a hill, so you can still have a nice view without the climb. Plus, there's rshop, restaurants, and bars to wait in if part of your group isn't up to the climb.

Visiting El Penol is a must do! Parking costs $3000 COP per hour for a car. Admission to walk up the steps to the top costs $25,000 COP. The walk up took us 14 minutes, and I believe there are around 800 stairs/steps. The view at the top was nice but there was a lot of fog when we went, still awesome however. Totally worth it! There are a lot of little shops selling really cool imported ponchos from Ecuador, and none of the vendors are overly pushy. We spent about 3.5 hours there as we also had lunch!

This excursion was awesome! We did a tour from Medellin... 11 hours in total including the boat ride and visit to Guatape.
