Curious statues but a cool spot to visit. Nice neo-gothic architecture and interesting story about the construction.

The history of the square is both tragic and hopeful. Local art is gorgeous, and statues in the square have a history worth reading about.

Would recommend going with a guide if you’re a gringx.

Crime scene of the 1995, 10 June terrorist incident perpetrated by the Medellin Narco Outfit that left 29 people dead and more then 200 wounded. The destroyed Fernando Botero sculpture is the shocking witness of that tragic day in 1995. Displayed behind : The EL COLOMBIANO newspaper account of this Cartel crime event.

Loved it, very crowded at noon and a bit sketchy later. But it's great in the morning and it's a very good reference point in the center of the city

Simple square. The blown up statue is very confronting though. About 20 innocent people killed to terrorize a city full of innocent people. Apparently the maker himself asked specifically not to remove it after the bomb but to let it stay and be accompanied by a replica of what it used to look like.

Visited this square as a part of our walking tour and learnt about the history of the art pieces. A must visit to understand the history of Medellin.

Art, art, art plus quite a few working girls waiting for a cash injection.
Botero exhibition is popular. Museum there too

Large square, social, many cafeterias, small street art markets, and futuristic statues.
