Beautiful and the family restaurant that was there was super good, fast and cheap price-wise ! Would definitely recommend

Incredible place!! I went with a tour from backpackers & travellers hostel in Neiva and it was a wonderful experience. Some sand flies at night but definitely worth visiting. It’s like a mini-utah. The grey desert is also quite wonderful with unique slot canyon formations all around.

Take advantage of the nature here before it disappears due to weather effects on the red desert!

I was not easy to get here, but i am so happy that i took the time to visit this gorgious dessert.
Important, take enough water with you, even on a cloudy day. Apply lot's of sunscreen even when it rains.

Cool desert 🏜. Well it's actually pretty hot , but worth the trek . Make sure u check out the pool as well. Great way to cool down after a hike through the desert

The deserts are super beautiful, but it's rather small. The observatory we went to was not at all good. You just sat on the roof of a building and got an explanation of some things, but nothing really new. Not worth the 10 000.

Beautiful place with a lot of sightseeing. Excellent area to walk, take pictures and explore. If possible try to get a hotel in the desert itself.

Tatacoa desert is located 35 Kilometers north from Neiva. The part I visited is covered with a beautiful ocre soil. There are areas where you can walk and explore freely certain paths. I had work to do in Neiva but finished around noon, so we decided to visit Tatacoa. It was an excellent decision. We arrived after driving from Neiva for less than an hour. During the trip, vegetation changes. When I arrived to the first area within the dessert, I could not believe my eyes. Time and erosion have created sort of canyons covered in yellow, orange and ocre soil. Large Cactus plants are to be found in certain places. We went down one of the marked paths and felt in another planet. Do not miss it if you are in Neiva.

Nice dessert! I liked the red dessert more as the grey one. Bring enough water with! And don’t book a Tour! It’s easy to do it by your own!

Place Is amazing. Bring water with you and try to go out in not too sunny hours. In the night it might get a little cold and the tour can be done by your own.

Small but beautiful. We saw lots of stars at night until it got overcast. We were not ready for the amount of bugs that we encountered and that soured our trio for us. Also we found camping to be quite hot. Plan ahead as the desert lacks options but has a few good ones.

There is no entrance fee. Make sure to bring a phone with navigation as you do not want to get lost. Bring water!

An alien world! Bloody hot. We almost got lost.

Simply magical place. I like to go there because it's always a magical experience. You'll have a desert with 3 different Sands. There's a museum, awesome views, for riding in motorcycle or byke or actually on a car, or walking, the experience it's pretty nice. Around there some magical places but it isn't known how rivers for swimming mountains to ride etc. Aldhair_a3 my Instagram if you wanna touring.
