Observatorio Astronómico VYCTORIASTARS Tatacoa

Not an observatory in the traditional sense of a building with telescope. They set up three hi tech mobile scopes you look through. The you lay on mats on large tarp for the entertaining bilingual presentation. It was fun. Bring a pillow for your head!

Very interesting visit. Guillermo (Astro William) let us discover Saturnus and Jupiter and also the nebula of Orion. After that he gave a very entertaining and interesting introduction in astronomy. Half English, half Spanish.

Absolutely worth it. The guy is extremely passionate about the universe and manages to convey this in a coherent Spanish/English story. 10/10 would do again. The 20 minute walk from VillaVeija towards the hill is beautiful at sunset, just before the tour starts. (On a semi-related sidenote... If you are scared of big cows with horns chilling on the road or the darkness of the night you might be better off arranging a taxi for the way back)

We had a super time with Guillermo and a clear night sky. Even if you’re not that well read up on astronomy astrophysics etc. he makes it very enjoyable for you. If you speak Spanish even better but he also translates the important parts in English which was great. As a tip to get there; when you see the wooden billboard on the side of the road, turn left in front of it and just keep on walking, its a dark road but theyll be there 😊

We were lucky to experience a clear sky, allowing for an amazing stargazing experience. Guillermo's passionate delivery and deep knowledge for astronomy made this a highlight of our visit. His talk was well thought-out, both in English and Spanish, and he was happy to answer questions. I'd highly recommend a visit to the observatorio!

Very good astronomer with knowledge and great communicability, very pleasant experience, real communication of science.
We were given the opportunity to see Jupiter and Saturn as well as Mars. if there is a moon in the sky, the images through the telescope will be magical. apart from the nice observations we got, the astronomer has a gift for everybody, every time. the whole experience is totally worth it

Astrowilliam is passionate about astronomy and his love is infectious. We spent 1h30 watching the stars and learning about our universe. We really enjoyed watching various interesting stars, planets, and cluster through his massive telescopes. We highly recommend this stargazing experience.

This is such a nice place. I do not have any pictures of the location since I was there only at night time but I will add some pictures they provide to you after the experience is over. I was there on the 28th and we were able to see the moon and Saturn. Really cool.

Fantastic evening looking at the stars with the guidance of Guillem who provides a great show, in both English and Spanish. Looking through the telescopes at stars and Saturn were incredible and it was lovely just lying on a mat on the warm ground looking up and feeling small!

Had an amazing night here. Didn't expect too much but ASTRO William had a great story and really took the time to explain everything. If you are not a Spanish speaker we would definitely recommend going here!

Great experience. Only 10,000 pesos for a great explanation of the stars and the galaxy. They even do an English translation after the Spanish. There were only 2 of us English speakers and they took the time afterwards to go through and explain everything to us. Astro Williams also sent us some of the photos he has taken on his telescopes! Lovely guy and very funny too

Temper your expectations if you don't speak Spanish.
There's a 45 minute Spanish presentation followed by a 10 minute English run down. Which was nice as it filled me in on things I missed because my Spanish is pretty basic.
While you spend most of the time just looking up at the stars while Astrophysicist Guillermo talks, we did get to look into a telescope at a star 2.7 light years away. Then at the end we got to look at a nebula.
He also gives out his phone number where you can message him on WhatsApp and he sends beautiful photos taken that night of the sky and presentation.
This is a must do one night in Villa Vieja. This is a very cool experience.

Amazing stargazing and really cool workshop. Especially for those who do not speak spanisch. The guide is funny and very knowledgeable about the milkyway. Really recommend this tour
