The Liquor Hutch

As someone who frequents liquor stores, and seen pretty much all Alberta has to offer, I was often seeing this name pop as as having rare releases from the liquor connect site when I was looking for rare whiskies or craft spirits. Often it would be your usual suspects like Willow, Kensington or some other 5 stores and then this store. As such, I was always thinking of checking it out since it seem like a cool store, so it just happened I was in red deer so I had to stop and see it for myself, and sure it did not disappointed. I saw so many one of a kinda products and some cool vintages and things I had never heard about. Prices were very competitive, and service was helpful and down to earth, never felt talked down to like it has happened in other places.

Overall if you need anything and think, man where will I find this, think no further as this store probably carries it. Also, if you need something at a good price you are also in luck.

A great selection, they always have friendly staff who offer to help me if I need a recommendation or loading a large haul out to my vehicle.

Amazing little spot in Penhold. Located in the back of the Penholder Tavern, this location has a huge selection for the size of the store. Beer, wine, liquor. They have it all and at really fair prices. The lady that works there is very pleasant. Overall I will stop in there next time I’m in the area and on the hunt for some drinks. Highly recommended.

Pretty good selection here! My husband comes here for different craft beers. Staff are nice as well and we’ve gotten good service.

We just happened across this little gem on our way through Red Deer. Amazing reception as soon as I entered the store. The staff are incredibly friendly! Will definitely be a destination from now on…sure wish they were in my hometown.

For a highway off ramp liquor store in Gasoline Alley, The Liquor Hutch was a very pleasant surprise with a wide range of liquor and wine to choose from and excellent service.

Good selection and friendly staff. It's nice to support these local guys and keep our money in the local economy as much as possible. Scott is a great manager and all around friendly guy.

Love the selection here. They have everything, craft beer, moonshine, local items. Staff are always willing to help find items. Sometimes I go here for an outing.

5 stars today. I'll let you in on a wee secret - the Liquor Hutch usually stocks the best rum I've ever tasted. 20 year old 'Dictador' from Columbia. It's a dark rum and the smoothest I've tasted on 4 continents! Good location near Costco too. Recommended!

This place is a must stop for anyone driving through or lives in red deer. They have a wide variety of liquor and beer. Friendly staff and knowledgeable about their products in store.

Typically I would not put a review on the web - especially not a negative one; however, I did post a negative review about the Liquor Hutch after my husband and I were treated in a way that left us feeling a little indignant. To my surprise, I got a FB message from Andrew who is the manager there asking me to come in and that he would like to make amends and offer me a bottle of wine. Well I met Andrew today and found the experience quite refreshing. Andrew wanted to know the details of our earlier visit and apologized saying that he appreciates our business and thanked me for bringing the issue to his attention. Genuine concern for your customers' experience...you don't get better customer service than that! Thanks again Andrew - you remain our favourite specialty liquor store to support...🙂

Just stopped at the liquor hutch before heading to Banff, most kind genuine ladies, excellent service and hospitality!
Even gave my friends and I some goodies. Would recommend stopping in, also huge liquor selection!
