Village Market

This is *the* place to buy houseplants in the neighbourhood. I come by every few weeks to scout their bouquets. They always have a variety, and I’ve even gotten two simple lily stems for $5, which gave me a dozen blooms that lasted over a week. Please buy your flowers here and not the grocery store! The elderly couple that runs the store are so, so sweet, and they will gently wrap your bouquet for you.

Their houseplant selection is incredible and goes on for rows, and there always seems to be a few out of sight, down the aisle etc. Plan to be here for a while to gaze, as you can find something new with every step. Yesterday, I found a beautiful Calathea with gorgeous pastel pink stripes!

Some advice, for others and in response to the review about pests: always, always quarantine new houseplants - the recommended time frame is 40 days. If you don’t have a separate plant-less room, use a clear plastic bag. Even the most reputable nurseries can suffer from an unseen pest infestation, so I don’t blame the store; it’s your responsibility as a plant owner. At this point, we all understand why potentially contagious people have to isolate - it’s the same for your new plants! :)

Everytime I pass this market I just couldn't resist to go inside and see all the plants that they have. It is a hidden tresure store full of plants and groceries for all plant lovers out there. They have a good variety and I got this Xerographica air plant and Staghorn fern here that I mounted in a wooden board to hang up in my wall.

I love this place!! They always surprise me with their amazing selection of not only groceries and snacks, but plants as well. All of the plants I have bought here have absolutely thrived because they take care of them so well that they are in amazing condition when I buy them. Plus, everything is reasonably priced (especially the plants, I got a beautiful orchid with three stems for only $12.99) and the owners are always so nice and friendly!

I just love this place, I can't stop buying plants from them. They are all sweet people and super helpful! Thanks for bringing happiness and sunlight into this busy urban life! And please order more air plants! I just cannot get enough of them~

I’ve been coming here for 6 years, and love it. They have amazing plants, everyone there is lovely, and they have a good selection of groceries (including very reasonably priced cheeses). If you need to do a small shop or buy a last-minute gift, this is the place to go!

I like to get my plants from here. Owners are kind and prices are reasonable and always have a great variety (best I've seen for a convenience store especially in the winter). I was hesitant in purchasing the last stromanthe as there were some sad leaves and the owner took off $5, so I took the chance and it is a gorgeous plant on my desk now :) support these small businesses!

It’s a nice place to get house plants!! There are various types of plants and pots. Also, the prices are reasonable!!! Every time I pass by, I check it out and I want to buy many plants every time haha. The picture is the fiddle leaf fig I bought at this store. Nice condition and good price!! And the cashier lady is so nice and kind.

This place has excellent house plants at really reasonable prices. I’ve purchased multiple here and they are all thriving. Additionally the service is great, very friendly and helpful. Certainly a local business I will continue to happily support and recommend to others

I was walking by the store and saw all the plants displayed by the window and I literally ran inside!!! So happy to find a store that sells house plants at a fair price in my neighbourhood!! I will be going often to check out the new plants in stock. Also the orchids are so beautiful and the owners are very kind!

We accidentally passed Dollarama which was where we were supposed to go to, we parked right in front of this store and I saw all the plants displayed by the window, I couldn't resist and I had to walk in (plant lover).
They have beautiful, healthy and happy house plants for a more than reasonable price. The owners were super helpful and friendly. Left with 2 snake plants and 1 pot of Lilies.
We'll definitely visit again!

Drove out especially to check out their plant selection. Pretty large selection of plants at amazing prices! I picked up a beautiful healthy string of pearls and I'm so happy to have discovered this place. Will 100% be back.

I absolutely love this place, the family that owns it are very kind and helpful they take pride k in what they do. The wife and husband both know a whole lot about plants and how to care for them. the indoor plants they sell look so healthy and perfect it looks like they've been in a photo shoot for a plant catalogue. I recommend this place all the time.

Been shopping here happily since I moved to the Annex. Has an above average selection for vegetarian/vegan food - there's tofu and fake meat alternatives galore, as well as a decent selection of kombucha and other fermented drinks for a shop their size. The owners are super friendly and helpful.

Staff are friendly and they have an excellent selection of plants. I always buy plants from there. Also the store is clean and bright.

I'm so happy this Mom and Pop store is surviving. They are the Nicest people and their prices are more than fare. I can't imagine that area without them.
