The food in the cafe is always delicious, the staff friendly and helpful, and the prices are more than reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Belleville is so lucky to have this business here!!

Tried the noodle burger today at the cafe and it did not disappoint. If they used a more authentic bun it would make it even better. Overall, nice authentic flavour. Music was bit loud.
The grocery section has a nice selection overall! I was hoping to find some Thai curry paste but I found something similar. Great prices too -
recommend stopping in.

The food is so delicious especially the masala dosas. The Indian sweets are also very tasty. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The store has all the spices, lentils and Indian snacks that you want. So thankful for this store in Belleville.

Went to the store on opening day for the new location. Lots more selection than the former location. Also, the Café is also a takeout restaurant, with hot food and a few small tables. It's in the back corner of the store and not visible from the front. A great surprise when we walked into it! Loved the selection of sweets

We go and buy groceries there all the time. Best grocery store in Belleville for ethnic/Indian groceries. Amazing staff and always find you stuff if you need help. Great addition to Belleville community.

This review is strictly pertaining to my experience with the Desi Cafe. Haven't had the chance to grocery shop yet.

Absolutely amazing. Had the samosa chaat today with an extra samosa for the road and both were fantastic. The samosa chaat is wonderfully bright and flavorful with a great combination of textures and a playful amount of heat.

As I sat waiting on my order I looked over the menu again and frankly I can't wait to get back and try everything they have on offer.

EDIT FOR RECENT EXPERIENCES:

Have been back a number of times and everything has been great. Samosa chaat remains my #1 recommendation but sopping in for the thali specials is always a good call.

The grocery store has some amazing selection and I highly recommend it if you're looking to try Indian cooking. They also have a great selection of kitchen wares.

I'm glad we have a place like Desi Basket in Belleville.
There has been a void for getting this type of groceries in Belleville ever scents Global Foods has closed.
Having a place to get pari pari fries in Belleville is an added bonus!

I tasted the tiffin from “Desi Basket”, Belleville. The food was very tasty and delicious. It was mouthwatering meal for me. It had complete authentic taste of Indian cuisine and I have never seen this kind of Indian food in Canada before. Also, the quantity of food was enough for one person. So, you can enjoy it. Absolutely, I loved it👍!

Great place for Indian grocery shopping. It is very tough to find Indian grocery stores in small town like Belleville but Desi Basket saved us. Great quality and variety of options.

I started a tiffin service a few weeks ago, and honestly I like the taste of food. The meal had complete indian authentic taste and it was so delicious. I recommend to other people that you should try a tiffin from desi basket and you will be a fan of their food. Absolutely, i loved it!

The Deli Cafe hidden indoors is a gem, we had Samosas Chaat and Masala Dosa, absolutely delicious, cannot say enough…happy tummies
