Jamie, Jesse and the entire Hide + Seek staff go above and beyond with their quality, customer service and charm. You can tell that they are all truly passionate about what they do and that passion is infectious! I would give them 10000 stars if I could!!

Among the best Flat Whites I have tasted in my life. M83 blasting on vinyl for vibes & a combination of Washed Guatemala , Washed Ethiopia & Washed Costa Rica beans for the espresso proprietary blend (mixed together). Marvalous Taste & Concoction of a product. Missed out on Waffles, yet I will need to try again om a future Sunday. This is my favorite coffee shop in Victoria

The best place to get coffee in town. Rotating menu of single origin coffee from a selection of roasters. Super tasty baked goods, and amazing waffles every Sunday. This is easily one of my favourite spots in Victoria, and where I end up buying about 95% of my coffee. Always a warm and welcoming vibe. The owners and staff are all amazing people, and I feel incredibly lucky to have this coffee shop here in Victoria.

This is a lovely little cafe tucked in the heart of Oak Bay Village. The owners and staff are all incredible. The drinks and treats are divine. And the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend coming here!

Yummy "Apple crumble waffles" on Sunday morning with cappuccino with almond milk. Crowded but high turn over. Very friendly staff and quick service. Recommended!

Hide + Seek has such great coffee and such a cool vibe. Not to mention lovely staff and owners alike! The drinks are delicious, as are the snacks/food. I have had some of the best cookies of my life here. Also, there is a great selection of coffee beans available for purchase and gift options for the coffee lovers out there. I would highly recommend checking this local business out!

Amazing coffee and first class service. How can you not love a place where the server asks if you'd like a middle slice or the end piece of a coffee cake? The pour over is fantastic and the location lovely.

My fave coffee spot in Victoria! They nail the coffee forward cappuccinos and seasonal drinks. Big fan of the Arnold Palmer too. Cool swag and chill tunes.

I was in Victoria for a conference but had a final I needed to finish for a class and stumbled upon Hide + Seek in my search for a space with wifi. The atmosphere was very chill and the employees were super kind. I was there for about 4 hours and felt comfortable the whole time. The orange and cardamom cake was so good I wanted to ask for the recipe. I also got green tea and they did two steeps for me during my time there, which was about 4 cups of tea and was really good. I would definitely recommend if you're in town visiting and want a nice (not super expensive) place to chill.

By far my favorite cafe in Victoria. They've created such a beautiful community atmosphere at Hide&Seek, and I love seeing all of the regulars whenever I pop in to get their delicious pour over coffee and mom-made sausage rolls.
Don't miss their waffle Sundays! It's a weekly tradition now that I wouldn't trade for the world. Their weekly features are finger-lickin' good!

I first found out about Hide + Seek through Sprudge's Victoria coffee guide and further inquired about it through my coffee connoisseur friends. Although I arrived a little late for waffles on a Sunday, I was certainly impressed by the coffee served. Upon entering the shop, I was intrigued by their bean offerings and aesthetics and most notably that they use lever machines.

I tried their featured espresso and a pour over from Cut Coffee. Taste is subjective from person to person, but I was very satisfied by the aroma and tastes.

Further to add is the pleasant conversation I had with the barista, Kelly, about beans. It's always great to see a shop which has personable staff who enjoy the process of making and tasting coffee as much as I do.

Best coffee in Victoria by far. Food is okey ish but still gets 5 stars because of the coffee.

I'm updating my review after 4 years to say that this place still amazes me with the fantastic beans. They just HAVE to sprinkle something extra in there...I have no idea. Do angels single carols to your espresso machine at night? What happens in there, guys? Anyways. Love the vibe in here. Grab a window seat and read a book. Sit down and enjoy it.

My go-to local place for beans. They always have a good variety of roasters to choose from, even some ones from Europe, which I haven't found anywhere else locally. Good range of prices as well, which means there is something for every budget. Haven't tried the food, but it looks pretty good!

Fantastic coffee shop featuring some of the best coffee roasters on the West Coast, the choice is difficult to make! The Sunday Waffles are a must: always the original and a mind-blowing feature-of-the-week. Show up at little before 10am to avoid the line-up!

this is my all time favorite coffee shop.

always a stellar selection of beans. im from the mainland and i always make sure to blast through my lineup at home when i know im vacationing so i can bring home a haul from here. coffee is always brewed with care and love every time i've visited, and served the same way as well, on a beautiful wood tray with a glass of water and lovely hario decanter. waffles are always fun and taste amazing. genuinely look forward to sunday the most every time i visit (the island) just for waffle sunday. treats and toast are also yummy.

i dont know exactly why, but this place is just so warm and comfy. art by local artists, the photographs, vinyl records being played all day, books to enjoy, everything comes together to make me feel like i am a very welcome guest at a good friend's home. and thats something i love so much about hide + seek. somehow, i feel like a longtime resident of oak bay, a part of this lovely community on the island, just from the vibes alone.

ive had a good few conversations with you all, and man, i just wanna be best friends with all of you. everyone behind the bar is a joy, and the passion and love for what they do is so, so crystal clear.

i just started as a supervisor at a brand new coffee shop and one day may open my very own, and hide + seek is my number one reference/example as a grade A coffee shop with grade A service.

just like i tell everyone here on the mainland, if you're visiting the island, going on a vacay to victoria, etc, you NEED to visit hide + seek. they deserve all the love, and you deserve to have the amazing experience these lovely humans provide. <3

Google Maps should have an espresso (review) category -five stars as a perfecto beverage. ‘Ready or Not’ in-house blend, is perfect, manual lever pulled shot few baristas can. Baked sweets are good and a prime selection of boutique roasts from Monogram, Thom Bargen, Bows…and more.

Place is a hidden jewel.
