Bertie's Cafe

My family stayed at Bertie's Air BNB for a week - highly recommend! It is such a cool space and has everything you need! Two rooms with 3 beds, a playpen for easily sleeping or containing babies, a lovely bathroom, microwave, sink, hotplate, dining and living room spaces. All conveniently located above their lovely Cafe.

We took advantage of the location and visited the cafe every day it was open (Thurs-Sun.) Everything we tried was delicious, from sandwiches to beverages, treats and pizzas. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and were great with our kids!

The location is a bit away from civilization as far as lodging goes, but we found that to be a positive! A gas station with food stand is about a 5 minute walk away, beaches are also a short walk away. Wildlife is plentiful around the cafe.

A classic dive or ride for food destination. The wood fired pizzas are so good!! Highly recommend Bertie's!

The food is delicious! you can tell the moment you step inside this restaurant and smell the delicious pastry aroma. The pastry are freshly made.

There's a entertainment corner of books, games to keep you entertained while you are there.
This is definitely a nice hangout place.

I am an out of towner and I have to say this is the sweetest place I've ever been too.
The atmosphere is so relaxing. From being cozy to great music and all the in-between.

The food. I have no words to describe how delicious the food is. I had there lunch(chicken quesadilla) it was by far the best I've ever had. I also got a homemade cookie. When I tell you I got a cookie I don't mean just a regular cookie,I mean it's an explosion of flavor in your mouth,the perfect crispy to chewy...Ughh I'll be craving them all the time.

The service. There is no other place with such service. I spoke with Lacey(I heard the baker call her by name) she was such a sweet woman. Very kind and my coffee was absolutely perfect.
The baker delivered my food and she was exceptional. So polite and such a friendly smile. The owners should be very proud to have such workers.

So because of all of this I will most definitely be returning and I will be telling everyone about this slice of heaven.!!!!

We went to Douglas Harbour for a Sunday afternoon bike ride and stopped at Bertie's Café for an outside wood fired oven pizza and believe me when I say it was worth the experience. The owners and staff were super friendly, the pizza was great and the beer was obviously cold 🍕🍺

Pizzas are great and worth the wait. It’s our third summer here. Bertie’s is super popular but the oven is bespoke and pizza is made only on order. So make sure to call at 2 pm sharp and get ur 15 minute window after 3 PM to pickup the pizza and plan ur day around the 15 minute window.

Edit - We were back the following week and ordered ahead of our arrival. Our pizza were ready as we walked in.

Had a great lunch at Berties last week, I had a perfect Americano followed by a delicious wood fired garlic and vegetable pizza on a gluten free crust that cooked to perfection. We also left with an amazing piece of cheesecake that was made in house that was gone before we left the parking lot. Can’t wait to go back!

This is a treasure! The baked goods are delicious! The wood fired pizza is the best pizza I have ever had! We have been here a couple times and even brought my Dad while he was visiting from Ontario. The board games and Lego keep the kids and adults entertained while the pizza is cooking. There is also a little free library that I plan to add children books too next time we go. There is a limited variety of alcohol and pop, but the pizza is definitely the highlight of the dining experience.

Make the drive from fredericton every weekend we can! Fantastic sandwiches!

Friendly staff, great food! It's a treasure having Bertie's Cafe so close to Princess Park. The quality of the food is amazing. There are great pizza options and the desserts end a meal perfectly!

Every meal, whether it was breakfast muffins, soup and sandwich at lunch or supper pizza, was wonderful home cooked and served by excellent people. This cafe is worth a trip to Douglas Harbour for a relaxing and affordable meal.

Wood fired pizza was amazing, we had the chicken pesto. Service was amazing and very friendly, and the S'mores cheesecake was the perfect appetizer. 😊
