Had a fantastic stay. Facilities were excellent. Showers at the central washroom facilities were clean and hot. Multiple flush toilets that were clean and well maintained throughout the camp were a bonus instead of just pit toilets. Fantastic being close to the river. Kids bike park and playground were great. Honestly had a great time and plan to return.

Doing a new review rather than 'updating' previous ones, to keep an accurate timeline.. (OCD? Maybe!) This afternoon (Aug.18th '23) we explored the south bank of Kettle River, down a meandering grassy trail to the left after crossing the Rail bridge, & found the remnants of some old silver mines, w/ iron gates blocking entry -- V cool! (In fact 1 cave literally emanated frigid air, nice relief if a bit spooky!) Met 2 curious & lively young girls there delighting over a frog inside one cave, who knew all about the mines from a mom's visit as a youth (cool mom!) They reminded me of glorious hrs spent as a kid with my best bud, making our own map of a nearby park's overgrown area & naming each fave copse, dip, knoll etc! But I digress.. (Adding some pix I took there!)

Absolutely beautiful rec site. Park workers are super friendly and so very helpful in every regard. Great shower facilities, super clean flush toilets and pit toilets, on the kettle valley trail so great walks in every direction. Hope no one reads this as I want this as our personal site!!!

Been camping here since the 80's and, although it's gotten much busier, it's still my favorite in BC. Beautiful sites, clean bathrooms with hot showers, and perfect beaches.
We were here 2 weeks before the fire in August, 2015 and this is our first year back since. It was a surreal experience entering the park and seeing the destruction, but the lower sites haven't changed at all. The upper campground saw most of the damage, but there is beautiful new growth happening already. The new flowers have brought in more birds than I have ever seen here.

We are super happy and surprised at how clean this provincial site was. The bathrooms and showers were kept immaculate and they were the cleanest we have seen at a camp site. The camp hosts are super friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and we're very helpful at addressing our needs while we stayed for the week. The generator rules were a huge plus so we didn't have to sit and listed to running engines all day.

We will be making this a regular camping spot every year for sure.

A hidden gem. Looking at the area from the highway, the remaining standing charred trees after the forest fire don't look inviting, BUT if you follow the winding road through here you will find that hell becomes paradise. The Kettle River Recreation area (and nearby campground) is a beautiful spot, a place with easily accessible walking trails and beach, an amazing place for tubing in the river. Located right near an old train trestle bridge which offers a hiking/cying path, with awesome views.

Great spot. At only $15 for seniors rate up to June 15th, it was a bargain. Very quiet. The river was high from a spring rainstorm. Very pretty area.

Nice campground. Big spots. Bike to Rock Creek along the old rail road. Float along the river. Swim under and jump off the old rail bridge. Hike up the hill to the Canada flag, leave a note and or trinket in the box.

One of, if not, the greatest campgrounds in southern BC. The river is amazing, the campsites are private, the facilities are cleaned expertly, and the wildlife is fantastic.

In June, avoid the riverside sites due to mosquitoes. Clean bathrooms. Welcoming hosts & hard working camp employees. Dramatic landscape w nearby evidence of the forest fire that raged thru in 2015. Camping sites are well spaced from each other, lush understory under tall pines. Great example of our tax dollars at work.

Don't be distracted by the burnt forest around the campground, the firefighters did a fantastic job of saving the campground infrastructure and camp sites - beautiful location, we were next to the river, clean, well taken care of, free showers, the Trans Canada Trail goes through the campground, and there's a playground and bike pump track if you have kids - I'd camp here again.

One of the best parks to visit, the float is the highlight for sure, jumping off the old KVR train bridge. The KVR is right through the park so if you want to go for a ride it is easy access. The playground is nice and little kid friendly. The pump track is a must do for our kids.

I highly recommend it. Great campsite. New bathroom. The playground is pretty good. Must do the Canada Flag hike. The river is awesome. Good to swim in. Squirrels around the campsite. Pretty fun.

We didn’t use showers or toilets, but did peek into one and it was clean. Sites are well kept. This is a beautiful campground despite the fire in 2015. Although the fire deviation is evident from Highway 33 and down towards the campground, the campground itself was spared and is still well treed and beautiful. A few sites at the back which are FCFS only, are more open than they had been pre fire, but anyone camping with solar can appreciate this as an advantage.
