This is some of the best food around. Delicious and filling salad, best cheese cake around. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu. Love the ambience. Small restaurant but tables are spaced out well enough to feel spacious. Service was fast and friendly.

Loved everything about our meal here. The service was amazing, the food was delicious; we had bruschetta, steak and blackbird chicken, topped with coconut cream pie. Everything was perfect. Quaint little restaurant with lovely atmosphere. How did we not know this little restaurant existed? Had to share a review so everyone else can find it too! Thank you, we will be back!

It's fresh, the portions are big and they do everything from scratch!👏🤤🤤🤤💓👌 PS; Do not try the desserts, you will be amazed, hooked and you will dream of it. The service was courteous and excellent in a very pretty place. On top of it it's very very clean (including the bathroom). I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.😉

Best food ever!!! The taste, the presentation and the quantity of food are second to none!!! We don't mind driving 45 minutes away as everything was excellent!!!

Stopped here on our way back from the Eagle Nest Trail. Great food, large portions, nice historical place (building from the 1800s). We had the hummus with pita, which was beautifully served with cucumber, salsa and salad. Also had the chicken cranberry wrap, which was delicious (comea with a salad and soup).

Good for the soul. This is an amazing hidden gem. The warm, inviting vibe draws you in the moment you walk through the door. But the food!…THE FOOD was incredible. Smells good, looks great tastes amazing. You must check this place!

Its a little gem in the country. Very thoughtfully and elegantly decorated. I enjoyed my steak and scallops - everything was cooked to perfection. The broccoli soup was also very tasty.
The person with me also enjoyed her meal. Word to the wise : the salads are gigantic, very nicely done.
Beer selection is a bit limited (4 beers), however the wine list was sufficiently varied and made up for it. All in all, a very nice establishment.

Overall, considering the rural location it was a very nice meal for my wife's birthday. Perhaps that is part of its appeal. We celebrated with another couple who suggested this place. Food was delicious with expected portion size for 'finer' dining. My wife and I both had 10 oz steaks. Notably, mine was oscar so topped with shrimp and scallops. I had a cocktail. Our bill came to about $150 with tip. The other couple had fish (fresh pickerel) and their bill was just under $100 without tip. The place was about 50% occupancy on a Saturday night but given it was close to Christmas, maybe that effected things. At any rate, we'll not hesitate to go back. My only negative observation was that the table was a tad small for 4 people. We were constantly moving glasses and servery around to accommodate everyone's plates, drinks etc. Minor really and will not stop us from revisiting.

What an amazing meal the Blackbird made for our Christmas get-together. The meals were fabulous. The appetizers were fabulous. We had the bruschetta, which was outstanding, and the Hummus and Nan. The mains were spectacular and the desserts were everything we hoped for. Definitely a winner!

This restaurant deserves 6 stars. The food is absolutely delicious!

My partner and I dropped in for dinner the other day (reservations are recommended) and thoroughly enjoyed an unhurried meal in what used to be a general store built in the 1880s.

I had the pickerel special, while she had the steak. Both were superb! The wine list is short but good. And they carry a number of craft beers. The carrot cake I had for dessert was awesome.

The service was friendly and prompt. So if you are anywhere in the Calabogie or Madawaska River area, this is definitely worth the drive

Food is amazing, great service, what a unique location. So stuffed and satisfied! Christine and Lisa were great servers and Sydney is a incredible chef!

We had a lovely lunch here - great food, a cozy spot (wonderfully decorated) and lovely friendly staff. All the food was excellent - but the desserts we got to go were phenomenal - the cinnamon latte cheesecake and the coconut cream pie were both *outstanding*. Definitely a spot we'll come back to!

Loved this place! We stumbled upon this "hole in the wall" on accident, just driving past and decided to give it a shot. Sooo glad we did!! Everything about it was amazing! The food was home made to order so fresh and delicious. They make their own salad dressing and soups and the soups and sandwiches are fantastic! Service was top notch although they do ask for patience if crowded since they only have one cook and are preparing everything fresh. The decor inside is antique items and you could spend days in here discovering all the different knick knacks. I took tons of pics to show my family who will love the atmosphere. I plan to make the drive from Ottawa to visit this place often with friends and family. Wish i could give them 10 stars!!

Myself and family had an amazing experience here! We were greeted with a friendly hello as soon as we entered. The lady showed us the menu and got us seated promptly. The service and food was the best I’ve had in a long time. My son had a kids burger which was enormous and he couldn’t finish it. We also enjoyed the Tuscan chicken sandwich ( comes with salad and delicious soup) so tasty! My daughter had a grilled cheese, the server brought her chocolate milk with her lunch. I very much appreciated that! Stunning beautiful presentation of food and it all tasted out of this world. Portions are huge and we would highly recommend this restaurant. 5 star plus from this family! We will be returning:)

We are visiting form NL and just stopped here for lunch. Our meal was delicious . The portions are huge. You will not leave hungry. The absolute hilite was the homemade coconut cream pie. It was spectacular. I would fly here to have it. :)

This place is just the cutest! and I ordered their "blackbird club" absolutely the tastiest. and their beef barley soup is really yummy. customer service was a really sweet woman. Cant wait for my next visit.

Situated in an old general stores from the late 1800's. Great atmosphere!

The food here is excellent and so is the service. I cycle here from Kanata and they are always welcoming. An oasis in the middle of a culinary desert.
