Little Bavaria Restaurant

Love the decorating! Food is unreal and served fast. Two of us split a platter and had leftovers. I spent $40 and got 3 meals out of it plus a drink. Our server was really kind and very funny. Made a reservation a week ahead of time and thankful we did as it's so delicious that it's always busy. Even though the place was full, it was still quiet enough to have easy conversation and they made special accommodation for mobility issues. Even got free birthday cake a month after the birthday. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Highly reccomend

There's clearly a reason this place has so many good reviews. The interior is small but it is well ornamented with flags, steins, photos and hats. Everything was free if dust and looked well cared for. The servers were friendly, fast and professional.

Now the food was something else. When we were walking in someone was leaving with a few boxes of takeout food and just said "The Platter" as he walked by. Two of us ordered the Bavarian Platter and it was immense. 6 schnitzel, a mountain of spatzle, sauerkraut and red cabbage, mushrooms, steamed veggies, bratwurst and pan fried potatoes. We barely made it through half.

Lots of leftovers! I spent the evening telling friends why they have to come visit.

Our server was amazing..charming..and very helpful.
Going out to eat with Celiac disease can be challenging...but our server was extremely kind and knowledgeable.
The food was fantastic...the ambiance ..every thing was perfect.
Huge portions...everything I tried was delicious. ..very reasonably priced..great value!!

My wife and I had a beautiful experience in this restaurant. The food and the atmosphere made us feel like we were somewhere in a small village in Germany. Ashley welcomed us and made the experience even more special.

Honestly one of the best here in port I had a steak with garlic prawns and actually got decent portions AND good food left leaving satisfied and full (and with some leftovers)

Loved this place. Drive 1.5 hours to get there on the recommendation of a visitor center employee. Great Bavarian food. I went for the schnitzel and thoroughly enjoyed. Small and cozy. Very friendly staff. Cathedral Grove be way there was also a great stop. Huge old growth trees! Well worth the stop.

OMG, food portions are huge and delicious! Great service and everyone working had a smile. Definitely will return. Best German food on the Island.

I've had the pleasure of eating here many times - and it's always fantastic! The food is delicious (the bratwurst is my personal go-to), the service is spectacular, and the deserts are to die for (lemon chocolate cheesecake, oh my goodness). One of the very best restaurants in Port Alberni, and arguably, the entre island!

This is a smaller restaurant, so I would definitely recommend reservations. Walk-in at your own risk - of disappointment. I wish I had a picture of the yummies to go with my review, but the food disappears far too fast to even think about a photo. 😁

We hadn't been in since the new owner purchased. I was so happy to see it was still just as amazing as before. Food was great and service was also amazing. Felt so good to be back.

Reuben sandwich is really good! A must try sandwich that melts in your mouth. Jaeger schnitzel is the best schnitzel I have ever had. Liver dumplings and goulash soup are very traditional German food, but it is a little bit hard to adjust the flavour in the beginning. Price is very reasonable and portion is big! Highly recommended when you visit Port Alberni or Tofino.

Incredible food in generous portions. Very friendly staff. Wonderful beer. What more do you need? My buddy and I, both big eaters, shared the platter for two. Couldn't eat it all. Giant, and every scrap delicious.

We were passing by Port Alberni on a road trip and was recommended this place, the staff did their best accommodate us on a full night and made sure to let us know they would be right back if they saw us trying to get their attention while it was busy. They made the experience great, and the food was amazing too! The place was decked in awards and truly worth it!

Goulasch soup was completely different than mine, but what a nice difference.

Escargot, Alice was in heaven.

Sauerbraten, again it was very different than mine. And I enjoyed every bite.

My wife had the Zürich Geschnetzelts, in a white wine sauce that she really loved.

Jagerhof atmosphere (including polka). Delightful service and deeply satisfying German classic cuisine. The schnitzel is spot on, and the liver and onions are next level.

Wonderful Food!! We ordered plate for 2 and the food is totally enough for 3 or 4 people! Reservation is highly recommend! Don’t miss this restaurant!

Qaint little place for authentic German food. We took the combo plate and the pieces of snitzel were quite large. Everything tasted great. Next time we start with the desert.

I have seldom enjoyed a restaurant meal more. There was nothing about this meal that wasn't outstanding in every way. The food was delicious, generous, and everything from the sauces to the salad dressings to the red cabbage was home made. If you have any dietary restrictions, they know exactly the ingredients of everything they serve. The chef/owner came out and visited with each table to make sure everyone was happy. And last but not least the wait staff... our waitress was Michelle, a person who clearly enjoys her job, is proud of where she works and knows the menu inside and out. We did not have a reservation (and you REALLY should make one), but she found a spot for us, threw on a clean tablecloth, and made us feel like family. It is a small and very popular spot, and quite often too busy for walk-ins, so they strongly recommend reservations. GREAT SPOT FOR DATE NIGHT, BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARY, OR JUST CUZ.

Went here last night for a birthday dinner,
Staff were so friendly, gave good recommendations, did not rush us to order.
Food was delicious and HUGE portions.
Lots of cute decorations inside.
Price was reasonable. Will definitely go back!
