Bearberry Cabins

We were looking for a quiet retreat for our family and have stayed at multiple cabins and this by far was the BEST!! The owners went above and beyond to make our stay exactly what we wanted. They took time to talk to us and we enjoyed their company. We stayed in the Beaver cabin and again was the best that we have stayed in. All the essentials were supplied, decor is perfect, cabin is beautiful! The environment is quiet and peaceful and neighbours were respectful. We came home feeling relaxed and refreshed from the city life and will definitely be booking again in the near future. Thank you Bearberry!

It is an exceptional location. The cabins are built very nicely, with a lot of natural wood furniture, creating a feel of a fairly tale.
Surrounded by nature, forest is what one needs to get away from busy urban life and get the rest so needed after a busy week or month.

Beautiful , quiet place! Cabins are clean and lovely! The owners are amazing. Adrian made us feel so welcome. Hard working , wonderful people. Can't wait to visit again!!!

The owner Adrian was so welcoming and friendly. The cabins are nicely appointed, in a lovely & open Campground right in the water. The area is beautiful, and there are many things to see & do right around the Bearberry Cabins. Biking , fishing, family activities, hiking. A great place all round.

Our fourth time visiting. The cabins are super comfortable and clean on a working farm. Lots of pride of ownership. Adrian and his wife are wonderful to talk to, always a story and a joke to tell. The cabins are nicely spaced so you feel a sense of isolation. Adrian come by each day to see if you need anything and make you feel like a friend

Stayed for 3 nights early September and can not say enough good about here, host is extremely friendly funny and helpful, we were upgraded to the Kodiak and it was beautiful much more than expected will definitely recommend and go back 👍👍👍👍👍

Me, my fiance and our puppy rented the Goose Cabin for 3 nights during the week days and absolutely loved our experience here at Bearberry Cabins. The cabin itself was fully stocked (utensils/cookware/games/towels/bedding/coffee and filters/ etc. They thought of it all), the cabin was clean, beautiful hand painting along mantels and beams, the outside porch/deck area had a big family size BBQ, the lot was clean and was separate from the other lots and cabins so lots of privacy. We will be booking more nights at these cabins in the future 100%. Owners were amazing and the scenery was gorgeous.

We will absolutely coming back! We stayed in the Kodiak cabin and it has everything and more. So well maintained and beautifully decorated. So cozy and charming cabin.
The views on a snowy day are gorgeous.

3 of us and our dogs stayed in the Kodiak Cabin, and loved every minute of it. Will definitely go back. Peaceful, accommodating, and the owners are thee most kindest souls I have met. I'd give 15 stars if I could. Clean rooms, beautiful scenery, fresh air. What an absolute gem.

The cabins are beautifully made and so cozy, spaced out nicely and very private. So peaceful and calm, a great place to let your stress and worries vanish. Adrian is so amazing and so fun to talk with. It will be our getaway place to go to now. The cleaning staff is a wonderful girl who tended to our needs and friendly.

We had the most wonderful time! The cabin we stayed in was the Deer Cabin and for our little family it was perfect! The owners were amazing and managed to get us everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We will definitely return to this place and next time we will upgrade the cabin and try something new! So quiet and spaced out from all the other sites it was very relaxing for all of us.

Beautiful, cute, and very cozy cabins. We stayed in the Grizzly cabin, and are excited to plan our next trip. Peaceful and family friendly environment! We felt very welcomed in the laid-back atmosphere. We loved missy the horse ❤

Our first time. We wanted a secluded quiet place for a winter holiday n we got just that. We would recommend anyone to go n stay. We will definitely go again.

Beautiful cabins and very nice people

The cabin was beautiful and there was so much land, we loved the man made sauna, fire pits and jacuzzi bathtub! The best part was the hospitality from the owner, such a nice and welcoming man!

We had a great stay at Bearberry Cabins! Very friendly, welcoming, and helpful owner/staff. Beautiful location and spacious lots with lots of privacy. We stayed in the Lynx, a great little rustic cabin but would probably try a bigger one next time; although, the running water in this cabin is really convenient. The kids really loved playing in the nearby James river! We will definitely be going back 🙂

We stayed in one of the new larger cabins. They are gorgeous, well-appointed, smartly decorated and comfortable. We had a fire and the cabin was toasty. The owners are wonderful and very helpful. If you find yourself in the Bearberry area, I would recommend staying here. It would suit a family or couples.

The only word that comes to mind is amazing. The area was beautiful and the cabins were excellent. But most of all the hosts were beyond amazing!! Because my wife is a nurse they even gave us a free night and free wood and free propane. We can’t thank them enough for being so kind and so approachable, the holes made it so great to be there.

This was our first visit to Bearberry but it won’t be our last. We stayed mid-week in the Grizzly Cabin which is one of the newer large cabins. It was clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. We liked the large covered deck which could allow you to be outside even if it was raining. The property is vast and doubles as the Bearberry Nordic Club so there are many well maintained trails through the woods and open areas so it is great to walk around with the dogs. The cabins are located in two areas and are spaced apart nicely. A number of the smaller ones are being replaced with larger cabins based on the Grizzly floor plan. The Grizzly and a couple of the larger cabins are located in a wooded area whereas the newer cabins are located in a different area overlooking a vast meadow area. We met the owner a number of times while we were there and we were asked several times if we needed anything. They really are on top of things. In case you are tied to technology, there is no internet but there is cell service although it does get weak out here. Shaw Direct satellite TV was available for entertainment. Our friends and us are already planning a return trip. A bonus for us was lunch at the Bearberry Saloon which was a short drive away. Great place with a large deck for a burger & a beer...ok, two beers.
