Stony Plain Public Library

Nice and bright newly renovated library. There is a 3d printer that everyone can use. Lovely playground for toddlers.

We started going to the free drop in programs for toddlers and I worried I would struggle bringing my 6 month old along with my toddler but I felt so welcomed. We’ve been going weekly now and I feel so welcomed and comfortable each time. It’s a great way to get young kids socializing without any pressure. I really started seeing my daughter opening up today as she played with other kids. They have a fun play area for toddlers with a good amount of seating where parents can relax. The librarian Erna is fantastic. She always has a friendly hello as we come in and is so helpful, patient and kind every time I have a question. The library is so lucky to have her. If the library doesn’t have a book you want they will order it in for you. They have the coolest book return conveyor belt that my toddler loves and easy self serve check out stations but they are more than happy to help you at the desk if you want. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the atmosphere here.

This is by far one of the BEST libraries I have been too in recent years. Love the open feeling, the lighting from so many windows is beautiful!
I was floored at all the services it offers and all thr other libraries its connected too. The selection from books to DVDs to e-books and all the e-services they have is amazing!!
The staff was wonderful and so many to help you find what your looking for!! Older libraries take note and renovate! The library for me as a child was a wonderous place of adventure because of all the books I read. Now with all the other services its a true gem for our future generations!!!

Their 3D printing services are very affordable. The only downside is that it may take a month or two to get your item. I had them print a replacement wand cap for my vacuum and it was only $1.30.

I want to point out specifically that this library has gender neutral bathrooms!! For trans-folk or non-binary families, this is huge. Thank you, thank you so much for making this public space one where all gender diverse folks will feel safe and respected.

Great small library - my kids love a trip to the library, lots of books for kids… meeting room and study rooms - I’ve used a few times due to internet issues - the staff was always helpful and polite

Every time I have gone to this library the staff have always been kind and helpful to me. When I signed up for a library card, the staff member went through all the ways I could find resources online and apps for my phone that I can download to read magazines and e-books. I really enjoy the online portion where I can request any book I want from other libraries and have it sent to the Stony Plain location. The website is easy to navigate through too. I also often use the self checkout to sign my books out which is quick and easy. And I like that I get email notifications when my books/dvds are due.

What a fantastic place to go if you need a book! Facilitates were large and clean. The staff was so friendly and helpful. 5 stars plus!!
