Beautiful park, scenery and very groomed trails. Very congested parking in beautiful days.

Expect lots of families with dogs, strollers and picnic supplies.

A great park! I cannot believe I just found out about this place. It’s close to Edmonton but not too close where there will be lots of people. Also there were many trails with different ponds.

We love Chickakoo Lake. It's a great place to take your kids biking. It's got a wide variety of trails there for the beginner all the way to the expert, great nature walks great nature studies opportunities to go to the Lake to go fishing.

Love the trails, washrooms at the parking lots and the trails are marked well. The advanced Red trail feels endless but very senic with steep areas and super quiet. Would be fun to bring my bike next time and I assume the trails are good in the winter.

Beautiful place to go for a walk but make sure to bring bug spray and appropriate footwear as the trail quality can change quickly. If you’d like to have a fire, there is communal firewood available near the fire pits by the lake. Some trails have some inclines so keep that in mind if anyone has mobility issues.

Such a nice area! Forest all around, even as you drive in. The paths are quite nice and there are points where you can switch from one trail to the other and change it up a bit. The longest trail is up to 3.7 km and the other three are under 3 km, so if you walked all of them it will be a little over 10 km. There are wild raspberries on both sides of all the trails! The parking lot is big (several sections). There are washrooms at the start of the trail. There are maps where all the trails converge which is quite convenient. Lots of benches all over and some fire pits, as well as picnic tables and even a small playground. Will definitely be going back, as it is about 10 minutes away from. Stoney Plain.

Great place to get out in nature to go for a long hike or a short walk and get your steps in. Always a good idea to dress weather appropriate, after a rain it can be quite muddy and it’s always a good idea to bring some bug spray. It can get quite muggy and humid. I usually take my dogs and they love it, I’ve also seen some people riding their horses on the trails

They even have picnic tables if you want to pack a lunch and have a picnic. The grounds are maintained well and kept very clean and have portable washrooms by the main parking area.

It’s always a good idea to keep your car locked and don’t leave your valuables laying around. They have had issues with cars being broken into over the years.

Great scenery, well maintained trails, with benches throughout to rest on if you overchallenge yourself. Not crowded, but not isolated. This area has a great variety of birds, and the trails are used for walking, biking, and horseback riding.

Lovely spot just outside the City for hiking, paddling, fishing and enjoying time around the fire. There are outhouses, picnic sites with fire pits, wood available… and trees and peace and quiet. Fun to watch beavers and ducks in the lakes.

Ready great place for a quick picnic, kayaking, canoeing, biking, walking. Beautiful place. They have bubblers in the water to keep the lake healthy.
No motors allowed on the lake. There is public restrooms, picnic tables, fire pits, just a overall great place to enjoy. 😄

If you want to fish for stocked rainbow trout; this is your place! Although a drawback is the number of accessible shore fishing spots. Use a worm, bobber and blade set up and small hooks. Check the regulations on limits, size and tackle!

Something about walking the trails in the wilderness that calms everyone down.
Many miles of trails, great picnic sites, washrooms available, and lots of smaller lakes to wonder around. No motorized toys allowed. Dogs, Horses, or whatever critter your bring, must be on a lesh. Yes there maybe bears in the area, i haven't seen one there and I have been going out there for 20 years. Only 1/2 hour west of edmonton. Lots of parking and different access points to the well laid out areas.

Chickakoo is a little treasure in Parkland County. It's a great place to go with your family and we've photographed many wedding parties and families there over the years. There's many beautiful places within easy walking distances from the parking area.

Four of us went there for biking. Some of the trails were a bit tough for 9 year olds but we completed and enjoyed the advanced trail.

My dog loves it, so not sure what else matters. You've got everything you could need in a park here. Great place to spend the day walking, hiking, biking and to have a picnic. Groomed trails in the winter for xcountry skiing and plenty of trails for snowshoeing. We love bringing our dog here. I unfortunately don't have many photos of the actual park, but other reviews do. It's a very nice place.

Beautiful location. Feels like you are so far away from civilization. The harder trails aren't as populated but you'll still meet a few people.

Great place to do some light hiking around lakes/wetlands. Really nice trails, safe for dogs and not super busy! Also saw a big deer on the trail - which was nice!
