New Shanghai Restaurant

I ate at This New Shanghai Restaurant last night Mar 30 -24. It was great 👍 I only had takeout egg rolls and chicken fried rice. 😋 The egg Rolls were great but prefer the wrapped type. They were filling and Chicken fried rice was of very generous portion and delicious . I will be back to try other Menu items soon 😋.
I have wanted to go there for a long time and glad I did. 😊 It was a clean and pleasant place while i waited a very short time to take the food out. The lady was very friendly and kind; asked me if I wanted to dine in .
As far as the reviews that are bad about this place or the food; they are bogus. I figure they are all friends of Lee's ( as one referenced Lee's) and are just running down the competition. I will never eat at Lee's again . Ever heard expression garbage in ; garbage out. You are what you eat !

Some of the best Chinese food we have had, definitely the best since moving to the Edmonton area 8 years ago.

We did take out, nothing was soggy after a 15 minute drive. All the breading was crisp, noodles were perfect, spices were just right.

This is our new go-to take-out place.

Best Chinese food I’ve had for a while. The owners are so nice and I can’t wait to go back. I’ve been dreaming about the Shanghai noodles since we ate there. Yum! They also have the “alberta style” egg rolls with crust instead of wrappers.

We stopped at our favourite Chinese food and had the Wor Wonton. Amazing! Delicious loaded with shrimp chicken, pork, veggies and tasty Wontons. This may be our new favourite. Thanks June and Wayne you are as wonderful as the food that you cook at your restaurant.

Wow @coryfraser from the looks of your Google reviews you are a whiner. These are super good people who own this restaurant- June and Wayne. Did it not occur to you to actually deal with them instead of spouting your face off on Google? I’m sure you are perfect from your review, which IMO is bogus! Businesses have it hard enough without your unfounded comments.
Their Ginger Beef is fantastic.
I’ve eaten at some of the best Chinese Food restaurants in the US and Canada, and I will put them in my top 3.
So do yourself a favour @coryfraser, remove your review. It’s a big fat lie.
Our favourite Chinese Restaurant! The owner June is super nice and always remembers what we order! We always dine in to eat and love going here.

This place is by far one of my favorite places to eat. The food is amazing, one plate of food can fill two people! The staff are so friendly and it's so clean. I highly recommend this place.

Always amazing service! The food is delicious. This is the only place we get our Chinese food from. The owner/operators are amazing too! Worth the drive from Leduc!

I looked up breakfast in Calmar…I had no idea new Shanghai did breakfast but they do it incredibly good…price is excellent….food is even better. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis!!!

Amazing place, owners have serious integrity.

I had an issue with a part of my order, brought the food in question back, and the Owner came out to talk to me.

As soon as I let him know what happened, he took the food, set it aside, and asked me how he could make it right. I asked him for a partial refund, and he immediately opened the register and refunded me DOUBLE what I asked him for.

This is how you do business, and he's earned my business and respect for life.

Mistakes happen. How those mistakes are handled is what matters.

The Chef is next level! My mouth salivates just THINKING about their delectable dishes! 🥘 People come from as far as Edmonton to experience their food!

The perfect small town Chinese restaurant. The waitress is friendly, and the owner is the cook and takes pride in preparing fresh and delicious food. Definitely a huge step up from most other similar style restaurants in other towns that seem to all taste the same. The Singapore curry noodles are great and the Szechuan Beef extremely tasty. Calmar is lucky to have a gem like this.

I love coming here, food is always perfect and crispy and such a great staff. We came at 8:30 for a late meal and he was so willing to serve us and even let us take out time to eat and not rush us even after closing time. Good don't take long to be prepared either and always hot and is willing to change the spice of the food to suit someone's taste and love the new tastes he brings. My favorite unique dish he serves is a shrimp honey and peach dish! It's crunchy and sweet and just down right yummy~

This review is from my parents, they order take out from here all the time and they enjoy the food. The owners are very friendly and they cook your food fresh, so yes be patient.

Best place in Calmar for Chinese food. I can order online when I leave work in Leduc and it is ready for pick up when I get there.

Had the best Chinese food from this restaurant tonight my favorite is the beef and mixed veggies. Everyone has been raving about the food so I decided to take the drive from Leduc to check it out. We'll worth it and will definitely be back.

Amazing food and service, went with a group of 12. The food was hot, fresh, and the service was 10/10. We love over an hour away, but will be back again because of how great our meal was! Well done, keep up the good work!!!!!!

Our family enjoys this restaurant. The hot and sour soup and the egg rolls are my favorite dishes-best I have ever had. The owners are great people, and the restaurant is a local gem.

Always enjoy coming to New Shanghai Restaurant! It's seriously the best place around. It's completly worth the drive from Leduc and surrounding areas. The service is amazing, and the prices are very reasonable. Cozy atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

I'm absolutely in love with this place! The ginger beef is by far my favourite, and the owner along with his staff are so friendly! I won't eat Chinese from anywhere else as long as this place is around 😊

Good food, good prices, nice sized portions. I really like the ginger beef, best Chinese food on hwy 39 hands down. Fully recommended if your in the area

The Couple that have taken the restaurant over are friendly, courteous and attentive. We dine out quite often and this is the best Chinese food we have had in some time. The proportions are adequate and it may have taken a couple of minutes extra but well worth the wait as the food was very fresh and tasty.
