Westminster Pier Park

lots of yummy food here and you can take long walks by the river, very nice and calm. i’ll come here often because it’s a close ride to go here from where i live, and it’s really peaceful. people who live around here are friendly especially the cafe owners near by :) i also like visiting the thrift shop!! best to come here on a sunny day when the sun is setting. also parking is difficult to find in my opinion,i didn’t see much

I recently experienced the vibrant atmosphere of New Westminster Pier Park, and it was fantastic! The park hosted a free music show that brought the place to life. Families gathered, and children played on the grassy area while enjoying the tunes. The presence of food trucks and a snack shop offered a variety of delicious treats to satisfy any craving. What I loved most was the opportunity to chill out by the sea, feeling the cool breeze and admiring the panoramic views. Beautiful, well-maintained, long path to walk on at the New Westminster waterfront. Accessible from both New Westminster and Columbia skytrain stations. There are lots of seating, beautiful flowers, and shops along the path. There are some shade from the trees. Perfect place to bring your family or a loved one.

Very nice Pier for an afternoon/evening walk, there washroom in the small shop in the entrance, clean and small playground kids area for fun. People do picnics and there is a lot of greenery and benches to grab a spot with your companion. I am new to the area so will definitely visit again soon. Dog-friendly for sure.

Great area to read a book out in the sun. But it's also a great place to socialize with friends and family plenty of tables and chairs for picnics and children friendly areas to play. Has a good view of the Fraser River, too.

Great place to just sit back, enjoy outdoors: whether that be just lying down on the grass, having a picnic, reading the book, playing lawn games, or having a few alcoholic beverages which is legal at this park.

A playground is within minutes of the park, as well as plenty of benches and tables along the way and at the park.

A concession stand is open during the summer months, whether permitting, until 8pm. Stand offers meals such as sandwiches and burgers, to fries, poutine and around 14 flavors of ice cream.

A public washroom is open beside the concession stand.

Very clean, open space with a concession stand and dog park near the east end of the walkway. On the opposite end of the pier, you will find a large play area for the kids with ample seating for adults as well as hammocks if you want to lay down and rest. There is open greenery for a picnic and benches facing the water way. Parking is ample and only a short walk to the pier.

Absolutely beautiful place, must visit during summer

Great place to walk and take in the river views. It has a playground for kids that adults enjoy too. It also has a concession stand that operates seasonally. You can see people fishing, groups of teens playing basketball or city sponsored shows during the summer.

Just went at sunset but of course didn’t get to see the sun on East side river lol.

Great for families with kids. Easily accessible from across the street. Perfect for relaxing in a sunny day.

I'm pretty amazed how well designed this waterfront park is, little yet full of fun, kids enjoy the unique playground, grandpas love the unusual stuffs here and there, such as the status, the historical displays, family of four camp around, friends walk along the river, tours won't be disappointed too, how about taking a close look at the Fraser River swing bridge(built in 1904) with sightseeing telescope? The park is actually closed to a very havey industrial site, yet, it doesn't bother you at all, instead, you would find how interesting it is that you won't have chance to see otherwise, I even think it might be one of the “scenes”of the park.

Awesome park !! Yes its not in the best place . but it was really kool !! Lots to do for kiddos !! Sais its age 5 to 12 lol kinda found that funny but still was awesome ! Must see for sure with your kiddos as the slide is super high and long . aweesome!!!

Convenience to come from the skytrain Columbia station, very relax park with a beautiful view of the Fraser river and very nice walkway

Great little park on the shores of the magnificent Fraser River. You have parking and a small restaurant to get food. Great to just relax and enjoy on an evening.

Great view and good sitting area

I love this little park because of the variety of river views and options for sitting. It has washroom facilities, a vending stand and some picnic tables. I’d love to be able to walk from this park straight to the quay. There is a massive construction going on right now developing two towers and an underlying waterfront level which will hopefully establish this connection.

Loved this park when it used to have the beach volleyball area; love it now after the reconstruction post quay fire! NW has done a great job rebuilding in such a short time! The playground is amazing, the concession is awesome, the seating areas and shady spots are lovely thanks to all the plants around. The best place to go for a long walk in this city, IMHO!
