Waterfront Esplanade and Park

Such a perfect place to take a stroll! The flowers and foliage are stunning and varied. Kudos to the city (or whoever is responsible) for keeping this space abundantly beautiful. Bonus: lots of opportunities for coffee, ice cream, shade or taking a seat to stare at the beauty of the river.

Great be place to come for a relaxing walk all year round. Best during the warm and sunny spring/summer months. The City of New Westminster does a great job of maintaining the esplanade’s appeal and flowerbeds. At one end you have the River Market, which is great for a snack, meal, or a frozen treat. Small playground there for families. At the other end there is an off leash enclosed dog park for owners to give their pups a workout. Neat the train track bridge, there is a great playground for kids to spend tons of time. Public washrooms are also located nearby to this park as well as in the market. Been here many times and plan to come back many more.

Waterfront Esplanade and Park is an amazing place to spend time in, whether you're taking a walk, cycling or spending quality time with your friends and family. As someone who lived there for two years, I can attest to its beauty, safety, and well-maintained landscaping.

In addition to its safety, Waterfront Esplanade and Park is beautifully landscaped. The grounds are well-maintained, with plenty of grassy areas, trees, and flowers. There are also several benches scattered throughout the boardwalk, providing comfortable spots to relax and take in the scenery.

One of my favorite things about Waterfront Esplanade and Park is its accessibility. It's easy to get to, whether you're driving, walking, or taking public transportation. The park is located in a central area, making it an ideal meeting spot for friends and family.

Overall, I highly recommend Waterfront Esplanade and Park to anyone looking for a beautiful, safe, and accessible outdoor space to enjoy. It's a great place to spend an hour or an entire day, whether you're alone or with others. The view of the water, well-maintained grounds, and overall atmosphere make it a truly special place.

My sister and me decided to take this route this time in order to do exercise and now that it stopped snowing, it is such a pleasant experience to come here.
Besides being a place where you can do exercise, there are some restaurants (all the times we have been here, they are never busy which is awesome if you're planning a small get together with family or friends), a small mall and my favorite which is a store that sells organic products and all kind of fruits and vegetables that are incredibly cheap and fresh.
There are some buildings that seem to be nice for living, I just wonder about the price of the rent, however, it gives such a nice view for taking pictures in front of the port.
Another good thing of coming here is that New Westminster station (skytrain) is just a few minutes walking, same with the bus stops around here which makes it so easy to commute from almost anywhere.
What I enjoy the most every time we come here is walking around The Boathouse restaurant which is a seafood place. It has such a great view and it's such a good idea for any date with your partner, friends or even by yourself.

Beautiful boardwalk located in New Westminster. My daughter and I enjoyed a gorgeous walk, lovely flowers & plants, and a delicious lunch while visiting this lovely suburb of Vancouver, about a 30 minute drive. Well worth the visit!

A beautiful riverside walk on a sunny day. Nice restaurants and cafes at or near the River Market. Is assessing from the New Westminster skytrain station.

This is my most favourite walk and a place to enjoy the tranquility of a sunny morning. I meet the same people almost every day, greet them with a smile and say hi - that’s how I believe it should be. The city is doing an amazing job maintaining the flowers and blooming trees along the boardwalk. I really hope the walkway and park don’t become a subject of overcrowding after I post this review and my photos. But since New Westminster is not such a touristy and polular place, and there is no beach, I think we have a few years before it becomes what English Bay is in Vancouver.

The new-west Waterfront Esplanade is such a nice walk. Dave and I started at River market, past the huge tin man, there is another kids big toy area on this side, u walk past all these old boats near the paddle wheeler Pub & Boat House Restaurant. U can either walk on the ashfalt path way or over a bit on the wooden boardwalk for a better view of the river. If u keep walking u will reach Quayside park and there are washrooms 🚻 over here. The walkway is very well landscaped, lots of palm trees and flowers. This is a wicked walk with many nice views.💯💯💯

Beautiful scenic walk! lovely park and gorgeous at sunset hours . i enjoy skating here however its not a very smooth path so keep that in mind . lots of people here at sunset i feel quite safe even if its getting dark due to the masses

Waterfront Esplanade and Park is my favourite place to take a stroll at day, at sunset, or at night. It has a beautiful scenic views along both sides of Fraser River. It also has elegantly designed residential buildings, fountains, and manmade lakes. It’s also a great spot to take nice-looking photos.

Nothing better than a stroll on the boardwalk on a sunny day in October. Fantastic river traffic. Tug boats, jet skis, log booms. There’s a nice promenade pace to this strip. Loved it. Enjoy!

Lovely walk along the water . Beautiful breath taking view. Lovely flowers that are well kept in the gardens. Nice seating chairs . View of the Fraser River . Night views are sunset is just perfect . Great to walk a dog, take a jog , and do photographs have a coffee are grab a snack.

This area makes for a very picture-esq stroll along the Fraser River. Bonus if you enjoy the smell of Creosote! The City does a great job in keeping it clean and maintaining the numerous flower beds found along the way. However, as of this posting - Nov 23 2021 - Most of the boardwalk easy of the Quay is closed due to condo construction.

Such a beautiful park with lovely flowers and sea view. Perfect place for a weekend picnic! This park has a beautiful view of river and lovely walkway for jogging, running, walking or cycling. Dogs can be brought along with a leash. This park is in Greater Vancouver Area - New Westminster, BC, Canada. Long green grass spreads with mountain View. This is a perfect spot of a mountain and water view at the same place. I went here with my partner and we had lots of fun clicking pictures with the beautiful flowers. My favorite were the tulips. This place is super clean. There is enough space for every body to enjoy and didn't seem to be very crowded. It's a kids friendly place, I noticed many couples brought their toddlers and young kids along to play in the park. Great place for a morning or evening walk next to the fraser River. This place also has many lovely cafes nearby so you can grab a coffee while walking or after completing your walk.

I can't wait to take my parents to this place, they will really enjoy a nice picnic here on a sunny day. I have already recommending this place to my friends who also love nature like me.

Plan to go to this place ASAP so that you don't miss the lovely spring flowers! I will definitely go there again.

If you can't go to rulip farms, this place can atleast make your day a bit better. We could only walk around 20% of the waterfront, kanzan cherry blossoms are in floom bloom and tulips are just love ❤

This place is definitely worth visiting for Vancouverites. Nice walk along the Fraser River on one side, beautiful flowers on other side, lots of birds (birds are more visible on weekdays). Good for strolling, for family walk or just contemplating.
