Region of Waterloo International Airport

We flew out of Waterloo with Flair in September 2023. It was nice to fly out of our local airport. Checking in was very easy, even with a child. They had a small selection of food and beverages for us to enjoy while we waited to board. Washrooms were big and clean. Our flight was on time and departed right away. The airplane was surprisingly spacious, considering we booked with a “budget” company. Our pilot and flight crew were fantastic. We will definitely fly out of Waterloo with Flair again next time we go on vacation.

The airport is compact, tidy, and pleasant, eliminating the need for lengthy walks. Additionally, the staff was exceptionally kind and courteous.

Great airport to fly out of if you're local would be great to have bigger variety of food while waiting.

I recently had the opportunity to fly from YKF (Kitchener Waterloo) to YWG (Winnipeg) for the first time, and I must say it was a pleasant experience overall. Since I was traveling from East York in Toronto, the airport was conveniently located about an hour's drive away, covering a distance of approximately 120 kilometres.

I used the ParkNFly / YKF-P4 parking lot, although I cannot provide the exact price as I will update it upon my return in a week. (General Parking first 30 mins free)

YKF is one of the smaller airports, but I found this to be an advantage in terms of efficiency. From the parking lot to the security gate, and finally to my boarding gate, the entire process took me a mere 15 minutes. This quick and seamless transition definitely made a positive impression on me.

Inside the security gate, I was delighted to find a small cafe. The seating arrangements were lovely, and what made it even better was the fact that I could enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the runways and planes. This added a touch of relaxation and enjoyment to my pre-flight experience.

What truly stood out during my time at YKF was the friendly atmosphere created by the employees, security personnel, and baristas. Everyone I encountered was genuinely welcoming and helpful, which contributed to a positive overall experience. It's reassuring to know that the staff at YKF prioritize customer satisfaction and strive to make every traveler feel comfortable.

Based on my first experience flying from YKF, I can confidently say that I see myself choosing this airport for future flights. The combination of convenient parking options, quick processing times, pleasant amenities, and friendly staff make it a promising choice for anyone looking for a hassle-free travel experience.

I have been there for few times now. Every time my experience was good. The lady who did
lauggage checking at the front was super nice, friendly and helpful. When I was there, 4 or 5 registering counters were functioning and because of that line was moving quickly. Inside the airport the facilities were well maintained and cafeteria also had good selection on food for very reasonable price. Proess were so smooth too.

This airport is amazing. It was my first time on a plane and they make you feel very comfortable. Also, it is easy to navigate where you need to go

Pretty small airport and not much food options. However they do have 30mins free parking so if you are coming to pick someone, you don’t have to wait and block others near entrance. You can park in parking lot and wait for them to come out.

Very small and convenient airport. This airport probably has the most efficient TSA. Park and fly also available and affordable. I highly recommend using this airport. No traffic issues when entering or leaving the airport. The airport also has 90 mins free parking. It's very easy to navigate the parking lot too.

1st visit was last week to fly to Halifax. Nice small terminal. It's under construction so not totally finished. Easy to find your way around. Security was fast and easy. There is only one place to buy food once you are thru Security but has most snacks and food you might need. I had a sandwich and it was made or order and actually was delicious (altho typical airport pricey). The seating has usb charging there's a refill station for your water bottle. All in all a great alternative to a busy Pearson

This was my first experience with Region of Waterloo Airport. There was easy drop off, and convenient parking. I was able to pre-check in with the airline in advance and traveled with only carry-on items. Security was quick and easy.

The cafe in the departure area is fairly affordable and has a variety of sandwiches, as well as other items. The alcoholic beverages are expensive. I was happy to see Baden Coffee Co was their coffee of choice!

My flight was canceled due to a weather watch! So getting back home was quick and painless.

Second round through was just as seamless. There are lots of accessible power outlets available, as well as free wifi if you plan to work before boarding.

I hope to fly from this Airport more in the future!

Nice and cozy airport. You'd rather travel from here than drive down to Pearson if you have the choice. Short term parking is free for the first 30 mins so easy to drop someone off and not have to pay for it unless you spend longer than 30 mins. If you are dropping your teen or a senior person you can get a guest pass to go all the way till they board the aircraft. Flair is adding many more destinations in the coming months and the airport is growing. New shops and restaurants coming by 2023.

Small airport with 6 gates but great way to avoid hassles flying out from Pearson YYZ. The vallet service was free so for the few days trip, I chose to drop the car and fly out from this airport. The entire process finished within 20minutes. There's a cafeteria near the Gate5 where we can grab sandwiches and coffee. Hope to get this expanded over the years to get more connections.

The best airport around to fly out of. Easy parking friendly staff and 15 minutes from arrival to gate. Also a huge bonus that you clear customs in Waterloo. A huge time saver! If at all possible I will always fly out of this airport in the future.

Very clean and modern airport! Was parked and though security in mere minutes. Any chance I have I will be using this airport over Toronto hands down!

First time flying out of Waterloo Airport with Flair on 10th of May to St Johns and arrived back on the 13th would recommend to everyone, was a great stress free experience, this airport will be my go to from now on!!

Perfect size for an airport. Easy parking. Beautiful lounge and gate area.

The Kitchener/Waterloo airport features a comfortable lounge with comfy sofas and functional tables. All sofa areas are well wired for power, and there is a seating are with tall stools that looks out to the runway. As of Spring 2023, there is only one food service shop that opens late in the afternoon. More shops are scheduled to open before the end of the year.

First time here. Flying out to Calgary. Nice airport. Had lunch at the cafe and then a coffee awaiting our flight. All good.

Loved the convenience of a fast check-in/screening process as well as low parking rates. Everything is running pretty smoothly and facilities are fresh and new. Looking forward to flying out of Waterloo again.
