Toronto is blessed with perhaps the worlds best cinema house devoted to the art of documentary film making; Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema. It has been our go to entertainment destination for years. My partner is a silver member and with that goes various nice perks. There are other levels of membership; all including discounts on various events etc. and free popcorn. I highly recommend purchasing a membership which helps support the organization develop not only film programming but also their Curious Minds & Authors Talks. You can also take advantage of Hot Docs At Home and stream many of these docs and lectures

Their amenities are geared to everyone; it’s wheelchair accessible and a special app is available for those with hearing issues. Washrooms on two levels; the lobby level WC accommodates wheelchairs.

Had a beautiful experience watching "Madiha" by the Human Right Watch. Loved the popcorn and their chocolate snacks. Very friendly staff as well.

I love this Theatre previously known as the Bloor Cinema for second run movies. I love that they kept it's nostalgic dim lighting and warm cozy feeling throughout the conema. The balcony and orchestra levels give unobstructed views of the screen. I'd recommend seating anywhere past row G in orchestra level for a movie. The screen is generous. The sound is good for a small theatre. The posted pic of the screen is from the first row in the first balcony. Friendly helpful staff and volunteers make this venue a warm nostalgic movie cinema experience. There are many restaurants in the area from Ghazale (SHWARMA), and a variety of pubs such as Victory Cafe. Excellent documentaries.

Such an amazing cinema house. If you have the chance to go here and watch something, it is really worth it. Watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show Here and it was such a fun and memorable night!

Excellent theater that programs a wide variety of new and classic documentaries. Definitely worth signing up for a membership, because they offer a bunch of free tickets to screenings to make it worthwhile. Seats are very comfortable and wide. They have main level and balcony seating. Just saw the new David Bowie Doc, "Moonage Daydream" there, which was awesome!

One of the last repertoire theatres still standing, the renovated Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema is a must visit. From the extra large screen, reupholstered seats, and affordable popcorn with real butter, the community cinema screens, intriguing documentaries, and could use all the support it can get.

If you’re a documentary lover, consider getting a membership. The price of a membership pays for itself as it includes two regular admissions and two free large butter, popcorn, let alone the discounted, regular screenings and occasional free member nights.

Even though I live round the corner, this was first time at this legendary picture house. It is spectacular. Old time layout with a great curved screen, excellent sound, snacks and a bar. The seats are comfortable and spotless and the air is fresh, I will be going again soon to sample the wonderfully curated offerings. Please support this flagship of the silver screen. Highly recommended!

Hot Docs is an amazing venue. My photos are specifically of a UDocs Live event which featured a documentary screening followed by a live panel of experts discussing the subject matter. These UDocs events are accredited for lawyers, accountants and business professionals for CPE/CPD credits.

It's rare to come across a one screen cinema. This one has been gloriously, and comfortably renovated. Great selection of documentaries that you won't see elsewhere. Best of all is that they pop REAL popcorn too. They also sell alcohol at the concession stand. Well worth a visit!

Simply a lovely place to watch a film. Seating downstairs is much more comfortable than the balcony. Snack bar in the lobby is LICENSED and you can take your cocktail in with you for Showtime Enjoyment. Buy the annual membership for discounts on everything, including beverages, and make a habit of Doc watching.
