It was my first visit and I really loved this historical theatre. The retro atmosphere is aesthetic. Though the building is old, it is well maintained and cleaned so I didn't feel uncomfortable sitting at the seats or using the rest room.

Such an atmospheric place with its own authenticity and charm! Great movies and you can choose your seats. Don't expect it to be super clean or fancy, but you're not coming here for this. People are respectful and no one was eating their food loud lol. Loved the experience and please keep having such great movies!! Fav theatre!

I’m really happy that I went to Fox Theatre tonight to watch Jean-Luc Godard’s Contempt.
The whole experience from the eastern Toronto’s neighbourhood and the old-fashion theatre was so unique and enjoyable.
The visuals and sounds quality was quite good!
I’ll go back again for sure!

Such a gem!!! Membership is totally worth it. Great picks in film, from Oscar nominees to Hollywood classics to cult favorites. Just love it so much. Grateful to have it in the neighborhood!

Love seeing films at The Fox, nothing like an old time movie experience in a vintage theatre. So glad it still exists, will take the experience here over any new multiplex in a second.

Cool theatre. For a full vintage experience, you should eat at the Garden Gate across the street, a Chinese resto founded in 1952.

The Fox is the first theatre in Toronto and has been operating since 1914!! It's a beautiful one screen theatre in the beaches. I went for my first time a few weeks ago to see the 4K remaster of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon! A film I hadn't seen since I was a kid and it still holds up today, there was magnificent brilliance in the screening and it was so wonderful to be in this classic theatre! The seats were very cosy, the screen was a good size and the staff were really nice! The popcorn was also delicious I got a bag after the movie and devoured the whole thing in minutes! Can't wait to see more here! You can get a membership too so if you live in the neighborhood it's a good option if you love going to the movies!

Genuinely love my little local theatre 😭 the vibe, the size, the concessions. Not to mention they get a great selection of popular AND lesser known AND throwback movies.

Saw Hundreds of Beavers on my second visit here (first was Mad God). I greatly appreciate small theatres that do these special showings. The theatre was clean (as was the washrooms) though I did not try the concessions I will one day.
My only question. What is with the fun house floor in the lobby? I can't imagine someone having too many beers would be able to negotiate their way out without rolling down the length of the lobby. 😄

Very cute and tucked away theatre in east Toronto. Has re runs of some older movies and ones that you can't find in normal Cineplexes. Seats were very comfy.

I love this local theatre and their terrific curation of films, from the classics to Galentines Day. It’s very relaxed and old school. A gem in the beach.

I’ve been to them all and this is hands down the best independent theatre in Toronto! Best popcorn and best overall customer experience. I love the films they choose because there’s so much to pick from no matter your age group. And they have cool events! Worth the trip to the Beaches!

The Fox Theatre is an iconic, timeless spot in Toronto. Absolutely love this place. Please never change (or go away).

Still one of the last few proper movie going experiences in Toronto.

An invaluable thing to have, anywhere in the world, right in our neighborhood. The Fox not only shows culturally significant works by genuine artists; The Fox presents these films with 10/10 picture and sound. The audience isn't a bunch of morons who open their candy wrappers during the end of the second act when the characters are in their most vulnerable and quiet moment. The Fox deserves credit for cultivating a space for film to be appreciated and enjoyed. The variety is stunning: obscure gritty films from the 1970s, black and white S-tier works of groundbreaking importance, and films for all the various nerds, dorks, and geeks who seek to see their niche product on the big screen. Fox Theatre, you rule.
