Had an MRI twice in Royal Columbian Hospital. Had amazing experience. Nurses are friendly and they will not let you feel scared and worried. Although MRI takes an hour but no complaints at all. At that time that we came in was a bit hard to find free parking. There’s a pay parking across the street nearby emergency entrance.

Located in Sapperton area of New West, My family and friends have always received a high level of care from staff here. No complaints at all. It is located right across from the Sapperton skytrain station. Lots of parking— parkAde, paid street parking, pay parking lot across the street and free 2 hour street parking if you walk about 5 minutes.

We just delivered our first baby boy here, and what an absolutely amazing experience!!

I’m sure you’ve all seen those hospital reviews that just makes you want to avoid it at all cost, not this one, not the labor, deliver and postpartum departments at least!
We probably met more than 20 doctors and nurses during our 60h stay, and I can honestly say there was only 1 nurse that gave us the feeling of not caring. Everyone else (Dr. Akinbonola, Dr. Gill, Dr. Soon, Arshpreet, Kristy, Yelena, Raisa and soooooo many others) were nothing but wonderful to deal with!! Ps extra shout out to Arshpreet, we are so thankful to have had you as our ‘Oxyroom’ nurse 😊

On a side note, as we were checking in on a Sunday morning, around 9am, we noticed there were zero people in their ER wait room, maybe they are all inside in another waiting area, but even so, that was still impressive comparing to what we’ve seen time and time again back in Calgary!
I’ve had to go back home/work after waiting overnight and still not getting attended to before moving to GVA. Seeing the shorter wait time definitely gives me hope and more open to visiting when needed.

This hospital has the absolute best care of any that I have ever visited. All the doctors are very kind and receptive to my medical needs and I truly feel like every concern of mine was heard and valued. The nurses who helped me were all great as well and throughout my last week staying at the hospital my experience was pleasant as a hospital can be. I cannot thank all the amazing professionals working here for being so knowledgeable, supportive and empathetic to their patients and for having such a high standard of care.

With today being national nurses day I feel this is the perfect time to review my unexpected hospital stay at RCH on 4N.

I had an unexpected 15 day hospital admission to 4N at RCH. The nurses there are EXCEPTIONAL!

I can not express enough my thanks to everyone on the floor with a few special mentions. Most of you know who you are but Nona, Lillian and Heather, also a nurse who was filling in from the Internal Medicine dept., were a few who I feel are true and living angels! They helped me medically and mentally throughout my stay and helped me keep my spirits high. I cannot thank each and every one of you enough! Being in the hospital is stressful but they treated me like a person and not like a patient but made sure I was medically safe. I thank you all! 4N is amazing! Xoxo

I am roughly 4 years late at writing this review but prior to now I was not a review giving type of person! Lol
Anyways, I gave birth to my daughter here 4 years ago and it was literally the best experience!! The L and D Nurses and Doctors are all amazing but I was to give a HUGE shoutout to one Nurse in particular, Jess! Not sure if she is still there but she was amazing, she went above and beyond for me and my husband, stayed with me and chatted and kept me calm and actually stayed 4 hours past her shift to see me thru delivery! Thank you Jess!! And Dr. Sara Houlihan who delivered my baby, you were amazing as well! Thanks RCH Labor and Delivery unit!!

I had my baby here. They gave me a top notch service. My baby was in the NICU for 3.5 months they took care of him generously like closed ones. All the doctors and nurses from maternity, labour and delivery emergency and NICU are so polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

I have all great experiences at RCH, especially the ER.

I was mauled by an animal this week, I went to the ER the following night due to signs of severe infection... it was the busiest I've ever seen it. They had me checked in and discharged (with IV antibiotics promptly started) in 3 hours.

I have also been going to the outpatient IV clinic by the gift shop, and they are the most wonderful people!! Kind, compassionate and easy to talk to.

Thank you RCH for helping me.

I had a heart attack. Thank you for saving life. I stayed at 2South Cardiac Stepdown Unit. One of my nurse named Megan was great. I felt really grateful for her. She took her time to explain the medications which I needed to take when I go home and, gave me the schedule and other important info. I were really touched by her cheerful and caring personality during my stay. I wish her all the best. I could feel her kindness since I had had a lifetime experience about people. Bless her. Lastly, thank you for all other nurses and doctors that helped me during that period too. Thank you. Royal Columbian Hospital.

This hospital is fast and sufficient. They are very thorough and check everything before discharging. Very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Brendan Kelliher and the nurses. This is my new favourite hospital to go to if I ever need one. Thank you for helping me

I was suffering alot from last 2 and half weeks. got 2 surgries done there in a week. doctors and nurses who took care of me nicely. Doctor Udhi Jagdeep, my after surgery nurse Saba they are all great and other team members as well. The only problem is the staff who registered patient. On thursday morning 21dec 2023 timing 9.15 the girl sitting on check in 2 was very rude to me and other patients as well. I literally started crying there. Do not know why people do that. but m happy with other staff members who took care..Thanks RCH

I had a wonderful labour and delivery experience here. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. My L&D nurse (Shirley) was amazing and such an encouragement to me during L&D!

Was hospitalized for 5 days. All the nurses, doctors, and technicians who I interacted with were all very helpful, polite, and nice.

During my stay I saw some patients who were unruly or uncooperative, but the nurses still treated them with good patience.

I'm very thankful to all the hospital workers, not only because they saved my life, but also for everything else they do from day to day.

I sprained my ankle so bad, so I went here with my husband and everyone was so nice and helpful. I didn’t wait that long. Our experience at Royal Columbian Hospital is incomparable. I wish I could remember all doctors and nurses names that helped me.

They even kindly taught me how to use crutches and cheered me on. (The nurse was an EXPERT and now i got used to it cuz she helped me!)

Everyone talked very nicely to me and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed.

I really want to say thank you to everyone that helped me today. All doctors and nurses look so cool and I wish I were a doctor or a nurse like yall so that I could help somebody and give the same experience I had! Thank you thank you ❣

These reviews make me howl! people going to emerge for a cough, swollen ankle etc. is a supreme JOKE. These are NOT emergencies. You're complaining about the wait time but that's because you are not having an emergency. This hospital has saved my moms life TWICE for a full craniotomy and open heart surgery. Those are emergencies, those are life saving surgeries. Not a swollen ankle. Stop crowding up our hospitals with these minor issues that you should be going to a clinic for. Seriously mind blown!!!!!

I had an MRI appointment in the evening and I arrived an hour early. The reception was very friendly and accommodating to register me in. Then the tech came to see me right away. They explained the process to me very clearly and most importantly with a lot of care and patience. I felt very comfortable from the moment I walked in to the hospital to the end of MRI. Thank you for taking care of me.

Every one here are kind, helpful and professional. I have been here twice because of my symptomatic PVCs. Ablation was my option to treat my illness, but because of my anxiety, I chose to take medication rather than ablation. I have been on medicine for 4 month, but the symptoms came back again ,and I end up in the ER again, then I met Dr.Tung ,an confident, relaxed, approachable and professional Cardiac electrophysiologist. The successful ablation he done give me a second heart to breathe smoothly. Dr. Tung is very good at his job. Highly recommended.
Also Thanks to my previous cardiologist Dr.LeMaitre, all the nurses in cardiac room 224, and the doctors and nurses in the ablation surgery room. I really appreciate all your help!
