I was presented a Separation Agreement prepared by my wife’s lawyer and thankfully I had Robert review the document. No children, however we had assets, etc, I thought I was fine with the contents of the Agreement until Robert pointed out an imbalance with many of the provisions that were not in my favour and needed further clarification. My experience with Robert and his assistant, Gloria, has been the most positive one could expect considering the nature of the matter. An unfortunate and frustrating (for me and I’m sure Robert as well) delay was caused by several submissions by an outside party that were fraught with errors. I stress that none of these errors were the fault of Robert or Gloria, but they certainly acted swiftly on each occurrence and were relentless in their pursuit to obtain the corrections demanded by the court. Back in 2001 I knew my marriage was unsalvageable. As I moved forward to dissolution, I reflected on some friends and family members having gone through their divorce proceedings and I knew that I did not want the standard divorce, or the emotional and financial hardship that seemed to accompany that type of process. He was knowledgeable about the laws and very patient in explaining particulars to me so I could make my own informed decisions. He never rushed a decision but, allowed for time to aid me in the process. I felt empowered. He facilitated movement and growth during our meetings and promoted resolution. He took time to redirect and refocus us as we navigated the choppy waters of divorce. I believe he helped the process along so we could achieve the best possible outcome for ourselves and our children Now, all these years later, I am back renegotiating with my ex partner once again all in the best interests of our children. Robert took my separation situation and made it much easier to handle. Robert was professional and extremely helpful in a tough case with FMEP (Family Maintenance Enforcement Program) and my husband's ex-wife. He suggested offering a settlement which was accepted and saved us going to court which would have been very costly. The end of a relationship is devastating, Robert was able to soften the blow and make the process bearable. We disagreed at times in the process but he always had my best interest in mind. It was frustrating as to how long it took to complete but people do have lives. This is not a quick process, if you want it done properly it takes time. I would rather every I was dotted and T was crossed than quickly rush through this process and realized something was missed. In the end all my concerns were addressed and I have moved on.
