Mitchell's Your Independent Grocer Carleton Place

Been getting some lunches here while working. They have a counter where you can order stuff to be made for you like sandwhiches. Never had seen that before at a independent. The staff are nice. Food is good

Awesome Independent location. Friendly staff. Extremely clean and well organized!! They have the good chicken strips too.

Really nice store. Clean and tidy and lots of choices. Produce is great and the staff is top notch.

Updated Jan 2024: I used to love this place but am VERY dissapointed with the change in discounting. The 50% stickers were a great way to prevent food from being thrown out and giving customers a much needed discount. Getting rid of them just greedy. I am really dissapointed in this action.

Great store, lots of parking lots of selection. Great beer selection in the store. Have good Covid 19 rules in place. It also shared a parking lot with canadian tire so it can be a one stop shop on the way to the cottage. As a result it get quite busy on fridays!

Things stocked nicely and aisles are easy to browse. Customer service is good. Bake goods are tasty.

So much food to choose from. Well lit and clean. Friendly staff too

I like this independent I shop here regularly. It's always well maintained and clean.
The staff are friendly, but I have to give a shout out to the older gentleman that works at the sushi prep station (Sorry, I don't know your name) he's always super friendly and accommodating. You caught me on a really bad day once, and your kind words made a difference, Thank you.
They have good weekly specials as their prices are a bit on the higher end compared to other stores available to shop at in the area, so it helps with stretching the dollar a bit farther for quality products.
The produce is usually top notch, and the meat department is always well stocked, and the gentlemen working there are always helpful. The store in its entirety is well stocked for the most part. Side note for the younger males stocking during business hours, you might want to step aside when you see customers approaching the area your stocking.
There is ample parking and is fully accessible for everyone.

I have only had one major issue when you switched over your 5Gal bottled water supplier. I was left with $20 worth of bottles I had purchased from your store which you wouldn't take back. I was talked down too and made to feel like it was my problem to deal with. End result you lost my business for water purchases. The switch over was handled poorly and management on duty was called. You should of had a time frame for customers to switch over and get their refunds and not stick us with having bottles we can't use or get refunds for. Not acceptable!!

Have good fresh produce ..staff are so helpful ..never had any problems ..

There is a good variety of groceries, deli meals, fresh salads, the best cheese and onion sourdough bread I've ever tasted ,fresh meats. There is an onsite pharmacy. Mitchell's independent is a good place to shop

5 stars all the way anything you need they have it. Shelves are always stocked. Great fresh cooked goods if your in a hurry check them out you won't be disappointed.

The staff was very polite and helpful and my goodness! Was it ever clean!!! Even when the cashiers had no one in the their line, they were tidying away. Will definitely stop here more often!

I can't help stop myself to share how this SPECIFIC, location in Carleton place have a great, problem solving MANAGERS, and staff, making everything necessary soooo much better for a senior, (especially when unforseen situation like yesterday February 11th....) thanks again for making my experience another really good thing , shopping there!...NO WONDER my eldest son gave me as a gift a $200 card because of the blue menu, to Sales/to stock up on, but it's also because I have shared three outstanding people who want/have a say and support the staff always. BEEN THERE DONE THAT! Nice to know some really to care and take their jobs seriously and putting up with everything else.

Great store big and open with lots of room. This store is a great store, they have a abundant supply. They also sells clothing and shoes. I do most of my shopping here as I find this store has a very friendly and family atmosphere and they have great deals. Don't forget to get some of their fresh cooked roast chicken and wedges very delicious.

My go to grocery store in CP. Very clean and products are well stocked. The staff are very approachable and helpful.

Very helpful staff and smiles everywhere in the Store. I was happy to be assisted in the Pharmacy by their staff member. Lots of fresh produce and displays were excellent. The Bakery made delicious fresh bread and croissants. I enjoyed shopping at this Independent Grocer as the store was very clean, the staff were friendly and I liked the lay out of the entire store. For all the above reasons, I would shop at The Independent Grocer in Carleton Place again. Excellent Customer Care and Friendly and Precise Customer Services at all levels.

This store consistently impresses me with their fresh produce, fantastic variety (especially of organic, ethnic and natural foods) and their excellent customer service. Occasionally I have to shop at other grocery stores, and those stores always come off poorly compared to Mitchell's. I am especially impressed with the care for safety that they show for both customers and staff during this time of Covid-19 - offering far more safety measures than other grocery stores
