Wabamun Lake

I haven’t visited the entire lake but we had a fun time on the water by Tanner Camp! They’ve got huge inflatable structures to play and climb on. Was almost a sad time when I dropped my water proof iPhone in the lake but hey, after prayers were said and half an hour of shuffling feet we found it! When I pulled it out it had been recording the entire time. Here’s a cropped version of the video and some pics of the good time. Thanks Wabamun Lake for being on our side.

The fishing is somewhat good right now. Theres two good spots that we have found so far .one right at the welcome to Wabamun sign and go in behind the fence. Don't cross the road down the fenced off paths just small jacks. And the train bridge on the southside of the lake is a good spot too. Parking is tight so go early to get a good spot. No one is practicing social distancing but its pretty spaced out as in fishing you need your personal bubble and the lake shore is sure providing that. Good luck and be safe out there. The pelicans are blessing to watch ..

Pretty nice lake and has a great sunset view with the trains crossing on the other side. Lots of pier area and make a beautiful view with all the boats parked there! A great location for drone pilots!

Too much crowded right now as this time is the hottest time of the year. Other than that great view and nice environment.

Kids friendly, clean, surrounded by trees that help on a very hot day. Free warm shower, definitely will come back

Amazing day put with the kids fishing and boating

I moved to the Village of Wabamun located right on the lake in June of 2018. There are certain downfalls that come with living in a small town but ones that are to be expected (inflated prices, limited business hours etc). But overall I love it here -- people are friendlier and life is simpler. The lake itself is rather nice and clean -- currently fishing at the lake is catch and release but there has been talks about opening the lake.

Kids just loved it. Beautiful beach, lot of slides and sand to play with. We loved that we could do camping. It was fun. Even our dog enjoyed. Must visit

I loved the area and will definitely be going back. The area we were in you were close to your neighbors, but you still had enough space in between that you didn't feel on top of each other.
Highly recommend going here.

campground is epic , certain ethnic groups however seem to think the day and beach area is a free for all to leave garbage all strewn about when departing with no intention of cleaning it ......Park staff or Fish and game needs to crack down on this situation because it's a huge issue .

Good luck getting kids out of the water when its 35 degrees

This lake is super fun to go for the day as it’s roughly 50 minutes to an hour drive from Edmonton. The only downside is that the area is kind of small so first come, first serve. They have canoe rental for $50 for 4 hours which is great and had a good time. Would come again !
