I will never swim here (because the water's always filled with algae) BUT I highly recommend this place because of its nice dock, beautiful trails and huge space to just admire nature and do other relaxing activities (there are boat rentals, playgrounds for kids, lots of picnic areas, a walking path where you can also admire the lake, lots of shaded areas for quiet time/reading) plus a great campground!

Good sized Scenic Lake 45 mins outside Edmonton.Busy on the weekends and slow during the week.Lots of nice camping sites. Wood is $14 a bag. Good boat launch. Cant go wrong spending time out in mother nature.

Great day to be on the lake. South West corner of Lake showed signs of blue green algae. Always use the boat launch at the provincial park in Moonlight Bay.

Quiet and peaceful during Fall time. Not much activity during the mid September weekend when I first visited. Would love to return and enjoy the beach and take take out my kayak next summer when it's less chilly and windy 😄

Lovely beach and grass area at the provincial park, on a hot day almost has a California vibe with so many people having fun. Water was weed free in that area and sand was nice and well maintained (water is Alberta lake ice cold even after a month of 30 degrees). Park staff do an amazing job of keep it clean as well saw them out in force on a busy weekend.

Beautiful get away spot from the city.
You would not regret visiting this park.
Lot's of people boating on the lake.
Also, Lot's of green space for picnic and a huge play ground for children.
It's Best to visit the lake as a day trip.

The water is cool and clear of litter. I see many people enjoying the beach and water. It's a beautiful park for a family picnic. I see a large, secluded area with BBQ pit and covered picnic hut/gazebo with tables. The area has a nice view of the lake. I assume it's available for booking/ rental if you have a very large group.

Great place to enjoy the day with the family. There's a playground and bug open field to play catch in, even as busy as it was it wasn't overwhelming. No issues finding a place to set up our beach tent in the sand.

Many areas for picnics, as well as campgrounds. Easy walking to beach from inside park. Can have long lineups. Dog friendly but not on beach area. Multiple playgrounds, and open and private spaces for great family outing. Campsites vary from too close together, to more private.

Avery nice walk around part of Wabamun Lake. Paved and gravel path that is quite easy. Lots of wildlife in the woods and plenty of birds on the lake.

I really like this beach. This year I have noticed fantastic upgrades to the common area. New dock, picnic tables, and gazebos. Plus it’s close to Edmonton, St. Albert, Spruce, and Stony.
