Great roadside rest stop with valuable info about the area's coal mining ventures. Informative placards, huge machines, short walking trail, field for kids or pups to burn off steam, and a well maintained washroom. I'll be back.

This was an excellent place to stretch your legs between Edmonton and medicine hat. I'm happy that Google maps brought us by this little piece of history. Clean washrooms and don't forget to donate!

Such a cool place to visit. The shovels are amazing and the paint job they done made them ever better. Not a rust old shovel it's actually nice and you can get right under and see all the gears. A must stop of tour traveling this way

I've stopped a few times to stretch my legs and take a walk. There is lots of grassy space and tables for a picnic as well. The large machinery is very impressive and the displays are informative. Nicely maintained and important history.

Google maps says it's closed, but I didn't see any signs at the site. I had no idea this place existed. It's definitely worth the stop to see the equipment and walk the short trail. The fossilized tree stumps are pretty cool too.

This is pretty fascinating, having grown up not too far from here but not knowing about it until driving past. It's pretty neat!

Serene. The enormous display is jaw dropping. You gotta read the display to understand what they're for. Thumbs up for the maintenance crew. Please, drop some money for donation to help maintain the place.

Such a great place to take a brake on the drive between Edmonton and Medicine Hat. Let the kids run around to burn off some energy.

It's out of the way, but the Diplomat Mine is a great place to take a look around and stretch your legs. The old steam shovels are very neat to see up close

Great static displays of very large open pit mining equipment. The grounds and the displays are well kept. There are latrines on site.
