Down by the Bay Camping

Amazing view and access to tidal flats. Bonus. Very quiet as cars at night are infrequent. Not the hum of the trans Canada at other sites. This is a family kid friendly camp site. Owners and others were friendly and helpful answering tourist questions. This place is laid back. The kids play together. Bouncy castle was up driving in and people from the community gathering for a meal together, I was asked to join and eat. I did not have a converter plug and they found me one. I would stop here again and so should you.

The place was spectacular! A very neat small campsite with all amenities you need. It was very quiet and serene. Not sure what complaints are about, you can run into noisy neighbours on any campground, you are outside after all.

The view was a treat!

If you need a place to stay in Colchester County area, I highly recommend Down by the Bay Camping. We came over from Acadia University as a group of 8 campers this past weekend and the experience exceeded our expectations. Lisa, Laurie and campground staff were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The campground itself was relaxing with a great atmosphere, and the beach, absolutely gorgeous. We've already booked our next trip back!

Stopped here on a cycling tour and we were greeted with nothing but the finest of Nova Scotian hospitality! Beautiful views and great people.

We needed a place to camp for the night on the way to Halifax. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff who made it seamless to find our spot and get set up. Everyone was welcoming and the site has an awesome view of the Bay. Great people, great view, check them out if you're in the area!

Arrived here on a miserable windy rainy evening in July and welcomed by the nicest couple you will ever meet. Anyone who says different needs to have their head examined, they must be on drugs. A lovely spot right on the Bay of Fundy.

This place is okay if you’re passing through. The sites are quite small and on an incline. There’s also one shower & toilet, one washer & dryer, and a small kids play area. They’re missing some pretty basic things like a place to put your garbage on the way out. We had to take ours with us.

There are some long term campers that are friendly and helpful when the owners are nowhere to be found.

In a pinch this place would fit the bill, but don’t plan to stay for more than a night.

This is not a family campground. It is a campground that is full of partying, disrespectful and drama. Can't enjoy yourself without other camper coming to cause problems and fights. I was forced to leave as I didn't feel safe. We also had other camper take our wood without asking and propane tanks were stolen. If you camp you camp at own risk. They also only run of a 20 Amp service. , you can't run air conditioning or other things in camper don't work properly, which I guess is not good for your camper. The water is not drinkable as it turns things green.
There are drunk people driving around the grounds in cars or 4 wheeler. If you are not happy with this place do expect a refund. They care more about the problem causes then their good quite paying customers. It also an open field, that is very windy the owner is also to faced and likes to talk about other campers about others business. Do not give your money to this place. This place is cheap for a reason. Very disappointed in the out come of the the owners and how they handled our situation.

This is the worst campground for families and children!! The owner is a distempered individual who cannot control her own impulses. She physically assaulted a young girl last week (punched her in the face repeatedly and tackled her to the ground). The altercation took place in the middle of the campground with all the guests watching - even children witnessed the attack. I was appalled at the sight. Down by the Bay Camping has set an example of violence and alcoholism for the young children who stay there. Further, there is a 40 ft in bankment with a poorly built fence and no signage. A young child could slip or fall, or even an adult could be seriously injured. The entire campground is chock full of safety hazards: poor signage, and embankment with no fence, open fires with burning garbage, and don't even get me started on the belligerent alcoholics who reside in the park. People staying there cannot be trusted, nor should the owners be trusted.

As if this experience could not get worse, the owner asked me what I was. She said "are you he, she, they, or tran or what?" The audacity of these people is striking. Allegedly, the owner of the park works as an educational assistant in a school setting. I would not trust my children around this woman after witnessing last week's assault. Clearly, she does not have the calm Sunny disposition she wishes to portray. Instead, she is a duplicitous woman acting on alterior motives.

This woman rudely accused my father of committing acts that he was not guilty of. She made both me and my father feel deeply uncomfortable. We stayed for Father's Day weekend and our joyous get together was completely destroyed by this witch. Just this morning, my father was addressed directly by Lisa's (the owner) husband, Laurie. We were asked to leave the park effective immediately. They had no rounds to kick us out, and no evidence to support the rumors they had suggested were swirling around the park. They claimed my father owed money in rent when he did not. They were trying to pull a quick scam to double their money.

If you want to stay at a campground riddled with safety hazards, running rampant with drugs and alcohol, and people who cannot be trusted, this is a great place to stay!

If you want to keep your kids safe and retain what little money you have, I suggest you go anywhere else then this living hell on Earth. It's like trailer park boys, but 1,000 times Less fun. A closer comparison would be the real housewives of Orange County. Catfight after cat fight and low-level drama.
