I've been wanting to stop here for decades and finally made the time. A great display of native history. Posted interpretive plaques throughout the park and along the trail did a great job of explaining the significance of this location. A great little walk.

Absolutely wonderful. The view was incredible, the staff were very helpful and the entire museum was just fascinating. My son and friend had never been before, both of them enjoyed it immensely.

Such a beautiful and informative site! We thoroughly enjoyed the museum displays and the walking trails. Be sure to watch the 15 minite movie in the museum theater, it was very informative and well done! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly!

A world class museum! The history and artifacts along with the cultural guide give an excellent history of the Blackfoot people and the buffalo hunt.

This is THE place to understand how the Blackfoot people hunted for the bison (Buffalo) and how they shared their blessings with the community, how everyone helped each other to make it possible to survive the winters.

This is an absolutely amazing museum, with all the pertinent information on display. The structure is a brilliant piece of architecture. We watched the film which was done well and we were lucky enough to join a guided tour by a Blackfoot leader.

Outside, one will be able to see the exact place where the buffalos (bisons) jumped off.

I’d say 2 hours in this place would be the minimum if you’re really interested in the details.

They have real stuffed buffalos (bisons) inside the museum situated in a high location so the viewer can appreciate what it was like for the animals at the edge of the “cliff”

This museum is highly recommended, not to be missed!

We have been here now twice and learn something new everytime. This past family day we were happy to experience the addition of extra interpreters, storytellers, and Birds of Prey on display at the site.

Take your time and bring snacks. I noticed a lot of people on Google saying HSIBJ does not allow guide dogs. We saw a service dog in the building, but like any other museum, I'm assuming that you have to prove they are a real service dog.

We will be back to experience the museum in the summer. A special thanks to Donovan, Quinton, and Conrad for sharing knowledge and being so welcoming today.

Highly recommending Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site!

By chance, we joined a group tour led by the knowledgeable and friendly guide, Quinton, who is from the Blackfoot people. This UNESCO Heritage Site offers a deep understanding of how Plains people hunted buffalos and the cultural significance of the location.

The well-designed center provides comprehensive insights into the background, stone tools, treaties, and more. I highly recommend starting your visit early to fully appreciate the incredible efforts behind this educational site.

Well done site. The exhibits inside the building were well done and very interesting. The access to the upper cliffs was well planned out. No long hike to get there. An elevator ride and a couple flights of stairs. Well worth the trip. The story behind the name was worth reading, and very unusual. Highly recommend.

Great historic site. Terrific exhibits and info in the Interpretive Centre. Plus, outdoor trail options to make the kids tired for the ride home. We'll be back!

Great place for a quick side trip, fellow RV campers told us about it so we stopped in as it wasn’t too far out of our way. It has a great interpretive Center with 7 levels built into the hill side. The exhibits and video are excellent along with the short hike. Well worth the $15 admission.

The fact I have never heard of this heritage site is the real crime committed here. This site is very well put together, very informative and cost effective for a family. The information centre is buried into the cliffside. So architecture is A+. There is a theater and an elevator to the top floor for exploring the cliffside with trails from above. Views, A+ On your way back down, the museum sprawls several floors of information on the history up until the present. Preservation, A+

What an amazing place to stop in and see. A very unique piece of history to learn about and see first hand. You climb stairs to the top and see the cliff then come back in and work your way down. Learning all about the history of the jump and indigenous culture. There is even a cool video, that is free to see, that is a reenactment of the buffalo jump being used. How it worked and some of the roles people had when it came to preparing the meat and catching the bison. I would 10/10 recommend stopping. The staff are so friendly!!! We even had a chance to ask a couple questions that we had to one of the staff working there. Incredible location.

This is a great experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling nearby or anyone who has grown up in this area. I loved the people here who gave their time to share their culture and stories. I recommend the film and spend a bit of time outside. If you can definitely plan to visit during the dancing or if there is a special presentation or guest.

Very educational with information about the Buffalo Jump and the Indigenous peoples. A unique museum layout that is fitting for the theme. You get a great view of the plains when you get to the top of the museum.

Visited late spring 23.

You park the car at the base and walk a couple 100 meters into the building. Parking is limited but there’s overflow parking nearby.

The building itself is a multi story structure that that exits at the top to the trail. On each level there are exhibits highlighting the history and story of First Nation tribes that dwelled in this region, their lives and the tools they used as well as the artefacts discovered at the site.

There is a small theatre that shows a coming of age enacted movie about the buffalo hunt woven around a tribal boy.

There is a small trail at the top and a bit longer one at the bottom that goes close to the kill site.

Would’ve been great to visit the actual jump site but that area is closed for visitors but I did see some happy cows munching around.

There was not much crowd on a weekend so it was a breeze to get in and out.

If you like history, it is a must go. A lot of knowledge I learnt from here. The cafeteria doesn't open during winter season thought but not a big deal.

Of all of Alberta’s parks and historic sites, this one is the best! The museum itself is a great presentation, complete with a gift shop and cafe. There is an outdoor area where one can get a good view of the jumps, and a hiking trail below, allowing you to walk right where the action was taking place! If you take an interest in history, and are able to visit, this place is a must!

You can't take pictures inside but I highly recommend visiting this site. It opens your eye to the past and how Napi's people lived. As well as how destructive we as humans are to the world around us.

I really recommend to make a stop here. And start with the 30mn movie, it gives all the context and informations needed to understand the expo. Very well done movie. Beautiful architecture of the building which is faded into the landscape.
