We were looking for a fun and unique dining experience before the theatre and lucked out finding Little Sister. Our server was knowledgeable, sweet and enthusiastic which set the stage for our experience and the vibe was perfect, even though we were there early for dinner.

We stated with the Indo Citrus Sangria, yum! Then shared the chicken and shrimp satay skewers, spiced beef croquettes, glazed chicken and the charred green bean salad and Indonesian fried rice. Everything was well prepared and very flavourful. I’m obsessed with the green bean salad and rice and am still thinking about those dishes a week later and can’t wait to go back.

This place is vibey and the food is yummy. Definitely give it a try. I think it would be extra fun with a group and they have a speak easy in the basement if you want to make a night of it.

Amazing! We reserved the table for total 6 people we got a suggestion from the waiter to pick various portions to share that was really amazing we tasted a lot of plates.

I’m gonna say that ALL dishes that we tried was super delicious. The pork belly that is definitely not something that I like was incredible. The beef was melting, the chicken satay with smoked flavour from a griller.

Amazing experience and incredible decoration unfortunately I was enjoying so much that I didn’t take too many photos.

Also cocktails we were all very good!

I wanted to say thank you to the owner for this amazing experience.

This food bar has a cool vibe to it. I read on their website that one of the founders of this Indo-Dutch Food Bar was in the Dutch Navy. Sounds like there is an interesting story behind that. I enjoyed the vibe of space including the modern decor with whimsical touches and the upbeat music. We took the server's recommendations on food and everything was great. Would return!

Little Sister is undoubtedly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of King St. West. Situated discreetly on Portland Street, this quaint restaurant and bar exceed expectations with its delectable Indonesian cuisine and exceptional cocktails. My experience was truly delightful – particularly noteworthy was the impeccable service provided by Chris, our bartender, who ensured we felt well taken care of in the intimate speakeasy bar known as Bar XXX located in their basement. I highly recommend exploring this hidden gem post-dinner; you won't be disappointed. The cocktails were nothing short of extraordinary; we treated ourselves to their original creations, each one a testament to the skill and creativity of the mixologists. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

Service :5/5
Let me start my saying, this place has one the
Best service of any restaurant I’ve been to!
We were received by Robin when we got there and despite of not having a reservation we were accommodated within 15 minutes. Mind you the place was packed but Robin personally came to get us when we were waiting outside and was an absolute gem! Our server was also very sweet although I forgot to get her name.

Cocktails: 5/5
He recommended 2 cocktails that were amazing! We got the Kitimani Rum Punch which was as an amazing amalgamation of different kinds of rum with a slight coconuty after taste, felt like I was in. Hawaii sipping cocktails on the beach. And we got the It's All Gone Peach Tong and let me tell you Iv never liked Gin so much in my life ! It was melon gin and it tasted nothing like alcohol, the cucumber and gin were so refreshing, it felt like a day at the spa

Food:4.7/5

We had the Braised Beef short rib which was braised in Java spice and omg ! The beef was so tender and required absolute no effort. It literally melted in my mouth and the Java spice had bit of a kick to it which I loved ! The fried rice was not my favourite, it was a bit too sweet for my taste
But the lamb skewers were amazing ! I loved the spice and flavour. I loved how nicely charred it was and that buttery sauce on top was complimenting it so well! The chicken skewers were so tender and charred so well and the creamy peanut sauce with a hint of spice was nothing less than an explosion.

This place has a rotating menu and it keeps changing so will deff be back to try more on the menu!

Went there for Winterlicious and was absolutely blown away. It was an experience like no other. Each bite felt like a flavour bomb exploding in my mouth. Everything was perfectly balanced and honestly, I don’t think I’ve felt this happy after finishing up a meal ever before! For appetizers we had the Rampeh Domba (meatballs), House Cured Salmon and Lawar Salad. For our mains we tried the Babi Bakar (Pork Loin Steak), Ayam Lombok (sweet and spicy glazed chicken) and Sambal Udang Belado (Tiger Shrimps) which all came with a side of rice/fried rice. And lastly for dessert. Vanilla Padang Custard, Speculaas Spiced Cake and Ginger Coffee Icecream. The meatballs, pork loin steak and custard were the stars, and I’ll definitely go back to try more of their amazing dishes!

This place is awesome. The interior is really well designed with a mature vibe and sets the tone for a good date. The lighting and decor are both on point.

Went for winterlicious and I was honestly blown away by some of the dishes.

The Lawar salad was really unique. The flavours and textures are the highlight of this dish and it’s extremely refreshing. I’ve never had jackfruit in a salad but it’s such a great ingredient that adds sweetness to the salad.

The naughty nuri was the highlight. It seems like a simple dish but the spicy soy sauce glaze really elevates the flavour. It adds depth, smokiness and spice to the pork. The brussel sprouts were also some the best I’ve ever had. They had just the right amount of char and were garnished so well with tons of flavour.

Both the spiced cake and padang custard were wonderful. The pineapple rum sauce was such a refreshing addition to what would have been a denser cake. The passionfruit coulis is very sour but cuts into the richness of the custard underneath. It’s so creamy but also manages to feel light because of the combination of ingredients.

Mocktails were also really well done and very tasty.

Would highly recommend this place and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of their menu.

This place is definately underrated - tucked away in the middle of King St. west, Little Sister is a small restaurant and bar on Portland that serves tasty Indonesian dishes and even more impressive cocktails. I really enjoyed my experience - Olivia was our bartender and really took care of us. She also went out of her way to put us on the guest list for the speakeasy bar in their basement - which I’d recommend checking out after your dinner. Thanks for the great evening!

Came to Little sister recently for a friends birthday. The interior was beautiful, very bright and colorful but that’s nothing compared to the service and food. Every dish was quite literally mouth watering and the cocktails were equally as good. Our server was attentive and helpful. As for recommendations I would say everything on the menu.

I had such a fun time at XXX. I always visit little sister but this was my first time getting a seat at XXX and it was such a fun experience. They have some funny rules, but I think it adds some cool quirks and mystery to the small bar and space. The drinks here are solid. No glitz and glam, because they purely focus on elegance and flavour. If you’re getting anything, that drink that is inspired off kimchi is my favourite, but you can’t go wrong really! For the full video on the rules and how to get in, check out my full Instagram post.

Excellent place for a chill dinner. Not too many frills etc and the food is great. They also have a fully HALAL menu (obviously minus the pork).

Portions are decent and great for sharing.

We got satay, ayam goreng, nasi goreng, and ayam panggang. The satay was very delicious although it was pricey. The nasi goreng was our favourite and had a good kick to it and we ended up getting two of them. The fried chicken was okay. Ayam panggang, can’t remember if it was good or bad, unfortunately. The ambiance is nice and the service is friendly. Would come again!

My first time trying Indonesian food and it was absolutely excellent! I had the nasi goreng and lamb skewers and fell in love. I’m not even a big fan of rice in general but the nasi goreng was to die for! The holiday drinks were so cute and tasty too!

Probably one of my favourite restaurants ever! We went for Winterlicious and it certainly did not disappoint. The Lamb Meatballs & the Cured Salmon apps were fantastic. The Tiger Prawns and the Glazed Chicken as the mains were mouth watering. And of course for dessert we had the Rum Cake & the Custard. I've passed by this place so many times and am so glad I finally tried it. I'll definitely go back!

Little Sister and its little speakeasy, XXX, are fantastic. Always such great hospitality - from service to food to drinks, it’s a staple for a reason. I’ve taken many people there over the years - and haven’t had a single person not enjoy their experience. I’ve even made some life long friends while having cocktails downstairs.

Little Sister Dutch Indonesian Food Bar is a hidden gem with a creative menu that blends Dutch and Indonesian flavors. Downstairs, XXX speakeasy offers a cool vibe and more inventive cocktails. The cocktails are a highlight, with unique options that I've never heard of like a Banchan-inspired drink and one that tastes like Hawaiian pizza. It's a must-visit for a fun night out with great food and drinks!

Such a cute spot! Gorgeous aesthetic. It’s a mix of cozy and kinda tropical?! They play great music. The drinks are divine with hilarious names. The fries with peanut sauce were great. The satay was a hit. There is always a dessert of the day which is fun. Only dish I would recommend against was the fried rice as it was nothing too special nor flavorful. I only wish we had gotten the chance to go to bar XXX downstairs after! But alas it only seats 12 so we’ll have to be back!

Such a cute place!!! The food was also great. Our server recommended the Brussels sprouts and they did not disappoint - so good, I had to go to the grocery store after to grab some and make myself. Drinks were also fantastic, I ordered the “one in a melon”, and would recommend!

Great service, good atmosphere, tasty cocktails, flavourful food but smaller tapas style portions. Overall a good place to grab drinks and eat a variety of food in a cozy atmosphere. The service was very good.

Great dinner, service and atmosphere at Little Sister last night. Food very flavorful, great cocktail selection and attentive service. Cozy, festive atmosphere inside. We had the beef croquettes, beef spring rolls, short ribs, brussels sprouts and friend rice.

Shout out to Arianna who took the time to explain the sharing menu, making suggestions on how much to order and pointing out the dishes that tended to be spicier.

All in all, a great dining out experience!
