If you’re looking for the new type of history this is the place to start!! They have a non-colonized view of the arts and it’s really interesting to know. Also, most of the pieces in there are very famous, from Degas to Van Gogh. Aside from that, all temporary exhibits are made to sensitize the public. Overall, such an incredible curation of this museum! Really impressive.

Incredibly ethereal use of space for art exhibitions. Despite only being two floors, MASP organizers know how to organize the floors to make it look more inviting to guests. I loved the exhibition on Indigenous Histories and the variety of representation among the pieces up for viewing. Admission on certain days is free so make sure to review the website before you book.

This is a worldwide famous museum not just for its collection but for its architecture and historical relevance , and it’s totally worthy of it all. The architecture captures the eyes because it’s the biggest concret box suspended in the world with an enormous empty space beneath it , with a back space that it’s part of its art and gives you an amazing view of the 9 de julho avenue, just in the heart of São Paulo . The entrance is at Avenida Paulista other main attraction of the city. The ticket box is pretty organized, there was no lines. The museum counts on its fixed collection with artists that goes from classic to contemporary arts, both international and Brazilian artists, like Portinari. Some word wide famous pieces can be found there. But in the other floors they have the temporary exhibition, like the one focuses on the native people not only of Brazil but going far as New Zealand. It’s a fun and quick museum to visit , not tiring and boring at all.

Small museum but packs a punch! I love its unique way of displaying artworks, something I’ve never seen before but highly appreciate! You can appreciate the entire place in about 2 hours maximum or less, if you’re pressed for time. The park across the street, Parque Trianon is a great place to stroll through after the museum.

Amazing experience! Impressive architectural building . You need more than 1-2 hours to spend there if you want to absorb most of the beautiful art.
It is also functional. There is a very nice cafe & a great restaurant. You can also buy nice good quality souvenirs. I 've bought a sweet elephant toy for my granddaughter.
I felt happy there 😌

I loved this museum! Even though the collection is not very vast, the pieces displayed are of immense value. Perhaps the most innovative element of the exhibit is the open floor plan, with works arranged in chronological order and information sheets on the back. It really makes you feel more deeply connected with the works.

Beautiful exhibits and one of the most interesting presentations of a gallery I have seen. The art is mounted on glass so you can see the back of the canvas. You also have to walk around the work to read about the artist and the paintings origin which was very interesting and made you do a few loops. Great innovative art space.

We entered the museum for free for some reason i dont know, but i loved it. Anyway, the building is very good for being a contemporary art museum. The second floor belongs to classics, but other floors are spared to temporary things.
Love them all. Thank you

I’ve just come from living in several countries in Europe and really did not know what to expect from this museum. To say I was blown away is an understatement- a good balance of European, Brazilian and international artworks with a big emphasis on women artists too, something not often see in museums of the highest calibre. Only the top floor was open on the day I went which houses a rotating “permanent collection” containing works by Gorilla Girls, Renoir, Degas, Volpi, DiCavolcanti, Rafael, and so much more ! Eclectic and wonderful! A must see when in SaoPaulo!

A beautiful building in a great location. As a newbie to Brazilian art, this was a very good introduction. Plus they have some free days, so totally worth checking out.

Possibly the best art gallery in Latin America, they have a revolving display of major European and Brazilian artists as well as lots of indigenous art from pre-Colombian times and from today. A must-see gallery if in São Paolo.
