TAMAR Marine Turtle Praia do Forte Project

Fun outdoor activity to do with kids (free under 5)! Employees are kind, always available to explain or help. Fun way to learn about turtles. There are also sharks and rays to see. The gift shop is nice too :) For people with babies, please note that there are 2 bathrooms on the site, but only one that is baby friendly. It's the one located at the entrance of the park where you pay your ticket. Enjoy :)

Love the place. The landscape and the turtles are amazing. You can clearly see that they love them and care about them. If you want to eat somenthing inside there, you have an open restaurant facing the ocean with a breathtaking view. You will not regret the experience.

The Tamar Project does such fantastic work in protecting the marine turtles, that you absolutely have to love and support this place. The place itself is not very big, and you can walk through the whole area in 30 minutes or so. But you do get to learn a lot, and seeing the turtles is an amazing experience. It's also located in a beautiful area by some of the most beautiful beaches. After going here, you definitely have to go to the beaches and enjoy the natural wonders. If you're lucky, you can even see the turtles in the wild.

I cannot expressed how much we enjoyed this place, it was raining, and we have so much fun with the kids that we didn't care! It's a beautiful project, with a real cause that makes you feel like that they are really making a difference in this world. My kids, a toddler and a 6 year old boy were amazed as we. A must for travelers, a must for kids and the human kind.

They rescue turtles every day. All proceeds go to the institute.

Nice environmental project. Their compromise with their goal is immediately noticeable if one look around how many turtle nest are being tracked and taking care of. A must go.

We were impressed by their respect for turtles and nature. We can see a lot of turtles and also several fishes, a ray and a shark.

It's cheep and very nice (R$20). A lot pools with marine animals (turtles, sharks, stingrays, fish..), . Ask for the to "Yellow Submarine". A tour about the life on deep oceans. Very nice. They also have a nice restaurant inside of the park with a very fair price.

Tamar is a great place to visit, it is definitely a must go. Even if you know everything about Sea Turtles, it is not just about it. Tamar shows what they do to avoid Sea Turtles extinction, the last generation of turtle is three times bigger than the previous, so the project is working very well. I recommend you to arrive early because there are few activities and their particular schedule. Your stamp gives you the allowance to get out and come back later on. From inside you have an awesome view of "Praia do Forte" and its rocks . Have fun and don't forget your sunscreen.
