Nice place to visit and take a coffee with some tasty cake.
Beautiful library where you can look at an interesting book while having a good coffee.
Little store to buy japanese crafts and whiskys (great options that are not often found in regular liquor stores).
The second floor has a restaurante an little exhibition hall, where was a tea ceremony show when I visited.

It's a small tech museum but with technology at its best. Very educational for all. Don't miss the small cafeteria. It features different sweet pastries and a variety of hot and cold drinks. You might find that special present at the gifts shop and / or at the book store. And it's free!!!

Japan house is a great visit while in the Paulista Avenue area. It's free entry with changing exhibits. While I was visiting, they had mini diorama art and the history of Japanese toys.

Incredible artwork, the staff are smiling and more than happy to share by explaining and teaching about their culture and arts.

Entering through the doorway we were awed by the intricate bamboo and wood facade. Immediately inside was a display with tiny, delicate carvings and sculptures made as part of an exposition with a theme of homes for creatures real and imaginary.

The little gift store itself could be another museum, my kids are still talking about it.

We went for an exhibition about silk ropes and that was
Just
A-ma-zing!!
The whole history of building a rope with thin wires of silk, the uses of it and real ancient exemplaries were some things available there in that vacation period.

A fantastic cultural centre dedicated to sharing Japanese literature, art and design. This is a beautiful tranquil space and a great place for a coffee. Duck in here for a moment to escape the hustle and bustle of A. Paulista.

Japan House is located on Paulista Avenue.
It’s a great place to know more about Japan. They have a permanent exhibition about houses from all times, a workshop area, a library, a shop and a small cafeteria.
The temporary exhibition is about clothing and fabric from Japan.
Employees are kind and the environment is quiet and relax.

Went for a nice Sunday walk and headed to Japan House to eat lunch. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded so I was able to get seated right away. They had a variety of items on their menu and it all sounded delicious. I went for Karage and ordered cold soba with tempura. It really hit the spot after a long walk in hot weather. Total price for all the food was $35 so very reasonable. The service was also very attentive and friendly…even though I didn’t know Portuguese. I walked around the shop to look at the various gift items. I wish they sold the books they had on display 😉
