Very nice place, highly recommend!!! And I saw what food does animals eat , I think they live a good life 👌. Oh , and it is for free

5 stars because it is free, decent animals, nice tree/landscape, easy and clear trail directions, water, lots of washrooms, and much more. Don't know why it should be less as it is free and you can take amazing landscaping views - check pics! I took some of the most beautiful nature pics (maybe not the animals) that i've seen! Do not rely on google Maps or moovit as the entrance for pedestrian is easily accessed by the 2nd entrance (follow my review as I updated the entrance). You can get off the wrong stop and walk 1 hour to get there. I don't suggest the stop Google provides as it involves walking in not recommended streets (many stopped me and took me to enter the second entrance not listed on the map).

The zoo is big, free, and safe. The zoo focuses on animals from South America but also has animals from other continents. Unfortunately some areas were in reform. The zoo has 2 entries. Unfortunately the cost of parking can be unreasonable (people will try to charge R$20).

Lots of cool animals, especially native species to Brazil. There’s at least one huge iguana that roams free which is pretty cool. There are also free roaming monkeys and of course peacocks. The best part is that it’s free.

I’ve been to this zoo 3 times and I really enjoyed the experience. The place is really clean and organized. I’d would say they could have more opinions of restaurante inside the zoo or around it so people could have a better time with their families and friends.

Free entrance! Best place in town to take your kids! It has a lot of Brazilians animals and it's great if you like to walk! They are a zoo and also kind of botanic garden so watch out for he plants too!

I really like Salvador zoo. I didn't like that it was free entrance though and there was no visible place for donations.
