It's a small pastry and ice cream shop situated right next to the elevator. I have to admit that the ice creams are delicious, generously served, and really cheap. You may choose to get them in a cone or a cup. The 'Pave' flavor is amazing! Pave is a Brazilian cake-like dessert.

It’s definitely a unique place to visit. It’s the postcard of Salvador. When you go up, you can see the ocean, mercado Modelo, and the fort of São Marcelo. it’s definitely a great way and fastest way to get from cidade baixa to cidade alta.

It cost 0.15 to get up, and 0.15 to get down. Great that's affordable for EVERYONE!
It's just an amazing view from here.

Salvador and all things Nordeste, you stole my heart.

The historic area around the elevator is a must see. This area is one of a few around the world that recognizes our historical mistakes and honors the memory. If your in the area, don’t neglect to significance of this hallowed ground.

In this area and in the Barra, the people, the food, the culture, the history, the diversity, the sights, and the sounds encapsulate you and leave you wanting more.

A very traditional landmark of the city, this elevator is known as the first public elevator on the entire Amreica. It connects the up and down part of the town (where the Modelo Market is located). The fee to use is very unexpensive - only BRL 0.15 cents. It's also a good place to enjoy the breathtaking view of the All Saints Bay. Unfortunately, the surroundings are not as safe as expected, but note that this is very common for historical cities in Brazil. I do recommend you to be accompanied by a local to avoid unsafe areas and to avoid the local vendors who can be very insisting. As always, enjoy it during the daytime. The elevator doesn't offer a panoramic view (it was not built with this intention), but it has a glass corridor that can be the place for nice pictures.

It's very cheap at only R$0.15, and conveniently located. It facilitates a 10 minute walk from the ferry to Pelourinho or from Pelourinho to the market. There may be a bit of a line depending on the time of day that you visit. Can also get a bit hot during the day. There are stunning views from the top, a very popular photo op spot, as well as a famous ice cream shop help you beat the heat. Can't miss it on a visit to Salvador and I definitely recommend taking it at least once.

Beautiful elevator with stunning views of the city. At just 15 cents, it is a very affordable way to get to the old city. The observation deck at the top gives you some of the best views in Salavador. It's also closely located to Mercado Modelo, which is convenient. With that said, make sure you don't have any flashy jewlery on you when you go up so you can stay safe.

watch out with stuff, specially gold necklaces. when you leave the elevator going up, go straight ahead and don't let them paint nor give you some stuff. Other than that everything were very nice.

Better one to dine in. Beautiful ambient. Sitting area overlooking sun set and Mercado Modelo.

It is right at exit of the upper level of Elevator.

Best time to have ice cream is during sun set

We did a tour of the city...very informative tour guide, but some things were not open to see due to varying circumstances and felt a little rushed...

Great way to climb in the old city center. Price 0,15 real. Great view from the top. They have also elevators for bike, but I don’t know if the price is the same.
