Basílica Santuário de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré

Just like the Metropolitan Cathedral, this church is remarkable well restored, and still under renovation at the time of the writing.
It has similar architecture, but the ceiling is different and through the arches colored light emanates as it crosses the color glass with religious motifs

This church is extremely beautiful, specially all propped up for the "Nossa Senhora de Nazaré" procession that happens every year on the second Sunday of October.
Make sure you include a stop at this church while visiting Belém.

One of the most beautiful churches I have seen in Brazil. It's maintained well. It's also very fresh inside (not sure if with AC).

The Basilica of Belém Is a Catholic temple that began to be built in 1909, in the place where the image of the Virgin of Nazareth was found by Plácido José de Souza in the city of Belém, state of Pará, on the banks of the Murututu Igarapé in Brazil.

The Basilica need to be in the list of your visits when visiting Belem. It is Just amazing to see a temple in that size and beauty in Belem. One word: Gorgeous.

The fest occurs every October, with its highest and most important procession happening every second October Sunday. A must see when in Belém.
