Hotel LION Borovets

The hotel was fantastic, very friendly staff, great spa facilities. When It came to food the hotel always had plenty of options, we rented ski gear on-site and found the guy working there to be really helpful. Rooms were spacious and cleaned regularly, beds very comfortable.

Clean rooms, great food (free local beer and wine with dinner ) and a short bus ride from the slopes . Also has lovely pool and spa area. The whole hotel was spotless . Would definitely stay again, thanks for a great stay 😁

Lovely and clean. Very warm in dining room and public areas. Rooms are simply furnished with good quality furniture and bedding. Lovely white towels. Good shower over bath.

Food is plentiful at both breakfast and dinner. Always something new to try and plenty of it. Free wine and beer is a bonus.

Only flaw was the shuttle bus to the slopes and back. Notice on bus clearly states 16 passengers and no standing yet one driver lets people stand, the other doesn't. Bus will also wait at either hotel or drop off until it has more passengers, which makes it difficult to work out when it will next be here/leaving. If you have equipment, suggest you store near slopes as I'm sure passengers stored skis on bus and then bus filled up with passengers who didn't and took off! It's a bit of a bun fight in the morning and especially difficult and stressful if you have lessons at a set time.

That said. We would definitely stay again and fully intend to return next year. The shuttle is free after all and saves the 20lev each way.

4th visit to the Hotel Lion in Borovets. Lovely hotel nestled in the pine forest and only a couple of minutes from the main skiing centre. Worth a visit..

The buffet eve meal was great but when not available the food is extremely limited. Spa fabulous,and staff very helpful

Great low cost hotel, do not be put off by it not being ski in ski out. Shuttle every 20min or less. Walk is 13min easy. Great spa! Steam and sauna always hot and ready! Rooms have great hot shower and water pressure, are basic but roomy and comfortable.

One of the best places I've been! Our room was clean and fresh, very nice looking with a view to the forest. Food in the restaurant was amazing, nice traditional music, everything was worth the money at 100%! Staff is very polite and helpful, always with a smile. SPA was very nice and peacefull. Many different options for breakfast. The only minus was that our minibar wasn't stocked and we had only 2 small bottles of water. Overall everything was amazing, 100% recommend! 🥰🥰

I liked the rooms here, really big and clean. The food is also pretty good and not so expensive. The facilities are really good and nice , only the swimming pool is a bit cold, so it was hard to get in, there is no jacuzzi here. The personel was really nice and helpful.
Overall it was a good choice, far away from the noiey center, but it can be a minus also as we needed to use our car every time.

Great place to stay if you are looking for a mountain getaway!
Friendly and polite staff, especially the bartenders in the lobby bar,the receptionist and the manager.
The hotel was very clean,the room was spacious with lovely view, the food in the restaurant was delicious. The kids were entertained in the playroom where they had lots of activities while we were enjoying the Spa and the swimming pool.
The outdoor sun beds in the garden were a lovely place to relax after the mountain walks.
I would definitely come back!

Brilliant place for the ski holiday in Borovets. Loved the local food in the buffet. Food tasted fresh and with flavour. There were other safe options for kids. Juices, beer and wine were included in the buffet. Rooms were good. Transfer vans every 15min to take you to the Rila. The journey is 5-8min. You can even walk it there in 15min. There is a bar that operates till late in the lobby. Spa was brilliant after a day of skiing which can be accessed by all guests. You can even book a massage if you fancy. Can be a bit of a rush during check in and check out, but it was managed smoothly. Had no complaints during my week long stay here.

The hotel is quite secluded within the woods. The restaurant has very fresh and varied selection of food for most types of diets. The spa is clean and well-maintained. Hotel staff was very friendly and tended to our needs even in late hours! I'd definitely recommend!

My favourite hotel in Borovets. It is 1 kilometer away from the city center and the gondola, it's located in the forest, so it is really quiet. It has a big parking lot. The rooms are large, warm and the food is good. There is a shuttle bus that runs from 8:20 AM to 6 PM. So if you want to go downtown, you can hitch a ride in it. But walking through the forrest is really nice. Especially if there is fresh snow on the road.

The rooms and the service are excellent. There's free access to the hotel spa for hotel guests. The only downside is that it's not very close to the ski slopes, however there's a regular free shuttle service to the gondola lift

Excelent stay for family with kids, delicious food at decent prices (summer 2023), better than offers outside the hotel.

Luxury hotel for a ski resort. Since I visited previously we now get free wine with evening meal, which is a nice touch. Smallish hotel and friendly. Nice rooms. Enough hot water. A bit of an issue with digital door "keys" but staff are keen to help.

Lovely modern hotel. Rooms were massive and were immaculately clean with really nice comfy beds.

Food was nice with good variety both morning and night and free beer or wine with the evening meal.

Prices at the bar were very reasonable as well 4lv for a beer (less than £2). Overall a very nice hotel. I would definitely stay again.

Been to Lion many times, but this weekend was great indeed! We had our kids with us for the first time(3 and 5)and were happy to see a newly opened Kids corner, where the Animator was truly amazing! She was really kind and took great care of the little ones, kept them entertained, and all parents could really enjoy the time off and relax. Another thing to make us come back soon!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, lots of options to have a good time - SPA center, pool, billiards, tennis table, restaurants and all that in the middle of a forrest. I recommend and I will visit again but this time for more than 3 days. Also they give you complimentary wine when you check in which is awesome. And they have free shuttles to the ski track so no worries. Also you can rent ski from their shop.

Fantastic customer service. A bit out of town 10-15 minute walk. But ski shuttle available throughout the day.

Nice hotel with spa and pool. Great breakfast. Ski rental shop within hotel and hotel's own free minibus taking guests to ski slopes and back. Very nice set up
