Astor Garden Hotel

This resort is everything you need in one place for a nice vacation with the family. We were here with our 1 year old two times in the same season. Value for money is great. Food is various, tasty and there are two private beaches and two pools. Don't expect much from the drinks - everything is on dispensers, (depending on what kind of person you are, you can either live with this or buy from the store). The resort garden is beautiful and always green, everywhere you look is quite clean and tidy. Sometimes you even have access to the Thermal & Spa place of the Aqua House resort, which is a nice bonus they offer.

Staff were all polite and multilingual, helpful as I don't speak Bulgarian.
Rooms were large and well furnished. For 5* I would have expected at least to not have shower gel/conditioner/shampoo to be all in one, but a small detail.
Small gap under door did let a bit of sound through but nothing major and the hotel was already very quiet.
Even side parkview rooms get some sort of a seaview, a big plus.

Main pool was heated, providing lovely relaxation. Plenty of deck chairs for anyone out for some sun. There was also quick access to angel beach as well as access to the aquahouse spa resort included in our package.

Professional masseuses did a great job as well.

Overall decor was great in the hotel, a lot less sterile than some similar hotels.

As a vegetarian, was happily surprised to find plenty of none meat/fish options at the buffett restaurant. Would be nice for a consistent push for vegetarian proteins but had mostly worked out.

Overall, very satisfied with my stay.

Great Location, even off season. Close to ATMs, restaurants and with an exquisite interior design.
Even if life happens, as it always does, Patritsiya restored faith that every guest matters.

Perfect experience for us, a couple with a toddler. The hotel is brand new, stylish, extra clean. Attention to detail in everything. Our room, a double with sea view 4th floor was spacious, comfortable, quiet, big bathroom, big shower, balcony with glass exterior wall..very beautiful. The view was not quite direct sea view because the hotel is not front row on the beach, but the sea is visible enough. The facilities, the service, the staff is real 5 star. Food was excellent and enough and the thing we liked the most was the included access to Aqua House. Beach is 5 min away. Big exterior pool, slightly heated and a small heated indoor pool. Didn't try the alcoholic drinks, but everything else in the ultra AI package was excellent. Free parking. The hotel was fully booked but we didn't feel it. Kids disco, kids indoor and outdoor play areas and kids heated pool outdoor - everything we could wish for to have a relaxed stay as parents with a 2 yo.

Amazing views.

Quiet parkside room, good beds, quality bed linen, quiet terrace isolated from the next one. Very clean. Some toiletteries in the bathroom. Lots of large lifts. Great swimming pool with seawater and some small ones in the park. Nice 5 stars, surprsingly cool. The best one: no animation! Recommend for a weekend or remote work, good wifi. Parking, public transport bus stop to Varna 400m.

Gorgeous, modern hotel steps away from the beach. It offers a beautiful outdoor area with a large pool, as well as great views of the sea from the top floors (spring for a deluxe apartment if the view is important to you). All inclusive deluxe is absolutely worth the extra cost as it includes dining at the Monty restaurant, which is much better than the alternative buffet-style all inclusive dining. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The only issue with this hotel is the use of carpeting for essentially every floor, including the rooms. The carpets are already visibly stained which retracts from the otherwise premium feel of the hotel. I look forward to my next visit!

Outstanding hotel!
Excellent service! The rooms are furnished with elegant modern style and in oval shapes, which are very good for children and less harming if one hits the edge by chance 😊 Maintenance is excellent!
Bathrooms are fully equipped with toiletries.
The restaurant is very well maintained. Food variety is lavish and dishes were not repeated for a week. Good choice of vegetarian dishes, meat and fish. Only deserts were repeated a lot, but the choice was good! The staff is very welcoming and helpful!
Anti COVID 19 measures were applied everywhere and respect for the personnel that had to chase guests who thought they are above all…
The beach, pools around the hotel, aqua house access, everything was so nice.
We enjoyed our stay a lot and will come again for sure!

We stayed in September, hence it was not so crowded and we enjoyed our vacation to the max!

Incredible place! Interior is luxurious but cozy! Kids and family friendly, also for couples. Very calm and quiet place. I enjoyed the food and the accommodation, as well as the pool and beach, which you can use for free as a guest of the hotel. There is also a Spa, the massages and therapies are amazing! Full relaxation and pleasure! I would definitely go back there and I recommend it!

Generally a very nice high end familly hotel. For what you are getting the price is very fair. It is clean with a nice view and good quality food for an all inclusive hotel. The rooms are proper size. I highly recommend the massage center.

The only downside is that part of the staff is inexperienced and the service provided is inconsistent across all staff. Which is to be expected for a seasonal hotel.

A good location that greets you with what you want. Good location, outdoor and indoor pool ok, parking side in front of hotel and it’s free of charge.
The beach is in a small bay next to the public beach, in August it was very crowded.
Very dynamic and energetic pool walker and almost indispensable in all activities !!
Tasty food, very good services and very clean in room.
In a word, A GOOD HOTEL, but not 5 stars, only 4,5 * :) .
Why? Because all drinks in reception bar are served sometimes in paper cup, not in glass cup.

Excellent hotel. Worth the money

A beautiful and chic hotel. The wonderful view and the well-kept vegetation make you feel good in this corner of Bulgaria where the investments made are visible and attract tourists. The food is good and diverse. There are quite a few parking spaces, but in the end you can handle it. For a few days escape it is a destination not to be missed.

Pros:
The hotel is built and decorated in good taste. The rooms look very nice and clean. Nice view and positioning, close to the beach. Thee food was diverse and tasty. I loved the facilities, gym, Aqua House, massage. Good wi fi speed. We always found sunbeds both at the pool and on the beach so it was not crowded.

Cons:
They were clearly understaffed. We waited a lot of time in line at the checkout and when expressing my discontent their response was not polite. There is room for improvement on the level of English spoken by the staff overall. The drinks included are poor quality.

Hotel design, quality, materials, furniture etc is real 5-star. Could easily be Marriott, Hilton or Sofitel. Service and food maybe not so great, but as this functions mainly as an all inclusive hotel, then for the price paid for a package hotel (as in our case) I really cannot complain. For the same price as a 2-3 star family hotel in The Canary Islands or Majorca, you can get real 5-star, with the same or better food. If you want a-la-carte quality then maybe better choose another hotel - and pay 3 times as much.

Guests mainly from Romania, Bulgaria and in general Eastern Europe, although the odd French, German, Dutch or British guests could also be heard.

Big advantages:
- nice pool with swimming lane (even if most guests find this concept intellectually challenging)
- no need to “occupy” sun-beds as 6am. There are plenty and always available!
- well-equipped gym
- great rooms with genuine 5-star feel
- excellent location in a quiet resort away from the hustle of 1million tourists
- right by the beach - or actually beaches
- beach bar on one of the hotel beaches
- different lunch and dinner every day

Minor disadvantages (but will not ruin your holiday):
- food quality very “buffet style” - not always as tasty as it looks
- poor quality all-inclusive cocktails
- not-so-excellent coffee (although available 24h (lobby) and in each f&b outlet (restaurant, lobby, pool bar, beach bar and also in the room (!)
- some of the staff behave like they are on slave labour. I hope this is not the case 😜
- gym open 8am-8pm. So not suitable for pre-breakfast of after-dinner workout 🙁
- leaking shower due to construction fault by the shower door - apparently this is the case on most rooms, so be prepared to use half your towels as water dams,
- not enough toilet paper. They replace it everyday, but with non-hotel cheap economy paper with 5-pieces per roll. So with 3 people only 2 can use the toilet for a number two…

An additional advantage is checking out the supercars of the Bulgarian mafia bosses staying at Villa Chinka next door (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Rolls Royce etc) but be careful as their bodyguards are sometimes quite scary.

All in all for the price paid we got more than we had expected, comparing to previous holidays over the past 20-years…

The hotel is just great! Big rooms, the bed is fantastic, pool area is very beautiful, and also the beach and the gardens! They cleaned our room every day and also changed the towels daily. It is a place where I would definitely want to come back.

Very happy with my stay. If there is any improvement room, it's the food. The pool area could also use some music, but nonetheless very clean, nice, and overall super place to have a vacation at! Kudos to the crew.
